Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 12 McHenry routed Cary Grove to a lobsided victory with the score of 16-0. Cam Polerecky led the Warriors offense by going 2-for-3 with a single, three-run home run, and two runs scored. Kaden Wasniewski (2027; LSU Commit) got in on the long ball as well with a two-run home run. Garet Lobbins (2027) went 3-for-3 with a triple, double, single, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Bennet Baumann (2026) went 2-for-3 with a double, single, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Nathan Neidhardt (2026) drove in a two-RBI single. Jeffry Schwab (2026) was another key player that hit an RBI double, drew two walks, stole two bags, and scored two runs. Ian Boland (2027) and Ryan Carzoli (2028) each threw two scoreless innings for the Warriors.

Providence Catholic took down No. 22 St. Rita by the score of 4-2. The Celtics offense was won by the long ball in this contest. Sammy Atkinson (2026; Heartland CC Commit) hit the go-ahead three-run home run in the third inning. Bryce Tencza (2026) hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to provide an insurance run. Colton Carli (2027) pitched a quality start by going five innings and striking out six. It ultimately came down to a pitcher's duel as he was battling against St. Rita's Nick Cegielski, who went six innings and struck out seven.

No. 8 Lane Tech routed Lake View by the score of 14-0. Isaiah Martin (2027) and Jeremiah Aguiniga (2026) both led the Champions offense with two-RBI singles. Tanner Toback (2027) hit the RBI triple, Jorge Castellon (2026) the RBI double, and four other hitters drove in RBI singles. Alex Zeigler (2026; Grinnell Commit) was one of those hitters, but he also stole three bases in this contest. Paris Head (2029), Charles Johnson, and Donova Yoest (2026) threw a combined five-inning shutout and struck out a total of 12 batters.

In the five-inning shutout, Studtmann allowed just one walk while striking out three. Studtmann also ripped two doubles at the plate, driving in two. Four different Pirates collected multiple hits in the contest.

The Tigers got contributions throughout the lineup, with eight players recording a hit, eight scoring a run, and nine driving in runs. Daniel Lukancic (2026; Parkland college commit; 3-for-4, 3 RBI, 2 R) and Michael Murphy (2027; 3-for-3, RBI, 3 R) led the charge offensively. Tyler Rizzado (2026) was 2-2 with a HR and two runs scored for the Spartans.

Kameron Cox (2028) hit an RBI single while Rich Gewont (2026; Webster Commit) singled, grounded into a fielder's choice to knock in an RBI, and recorded the only stolen base of the game for the Broncos. Robert Sansone (2026) tossed six innings and struck out four, which earned him the win.

Noble Street College Prep routed Muchin College Prep to the final score of 19-4. T'Shawn Chester started the scoring for the Tigers by driving in a two-RBI triple. He later hit an RBI double to put up three RBIs. Enrique Juarez also drove in three RBIs on his two-RBI double and his bases-loaded walk. Juan Juarez was the key player that had a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate, including an RBI triple, double, two singles (including an RBI single), a walk, three stolen bases, and three runs scored. Elliott Cebollero went 2-for-3 with a triple, single, two walks, three stolen bases, three runs scored, and two RBIs. Alexander Bonilla went four innings and struck out seven batters. Juan Juarez continued his impressive day on the mound with two hitless innings and striking out five of the seven batters he faced.
