BIIF D2 CHAMPION: HONOKAA
The Honokaa Dragons capped an unbeaten three-game postseason run with a 6-3 victory over Hawaii Prep at Wong Stadium on April 29th to claim the 2026 BIIF Division II championship. The Dragons handled Kohala twice by a combined 27-1 to open the bracket, then weathered a tighter title-game battle to bring home the crown.

Honokaa's lineup carried real production throughout the tournament, scoring 27 runs across the two-game semifinal series against Kohala before doing enough in the title game to finish the job. Josyah Napoleon-Umeda and Jayden Salazar have been key two-way pieces all year, while Rory Crabbe and Isaac Derego helped give the Dragons steady production in a deep postseason push. Their "gamer" play style will make them a team to watch in the State Playoffs. The Dragons are BIIF DII Champs for the first time since 2008. |
