Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 1 St. Laurence defeated Loyola Academy by the score of 10-3. Sean Popp (2026; Oakton CC Commit) led the Vikings offense by going 3-for-4 with two doubles, a single, three runs scored, and two RBIs. Danny Donovan (2026; UW-Parkside Commit) went 3-for-4 with a double, two singles, two stolen bases, a run scored, and two RBIs. Evan Panther (2027) went 1-for-2 with an RBI single, RBI groundout, a walk, two stolen bases, and a run scored. Cory Les (2026; Louisville Commit) hit an RBI double and stole a base while pitching two hitless frames and striking out three to finish the game. Samuel Chin (2026; Ball State Commit) started and went five innings and struck out four to earn the win

No. 2 Lincoln-Way East defeated Homewood-Flossmoor by the score of 9-6. The Griffins offense was led by Rocco Triolo (2027), who went 2-for-4 with a two-home run game (solo and three-run home run). Matt Ritter (2028) went 2-for-3 with a double, solo home run, a bases-loaded walk, and two runs scored. Cooper Johnson (2027; Purdue Commit) also got in on the long ball with a solo blast. He also dealt the first three innings and struck out two batters. Bryson Das (2026) came in relief and pitched 2.1 innings and struck out three. Keegan Crabtree (2028) closed out the game and struck out three batters without giving up a run in his five-out save.

No. 3 Normal Community defeated Normal West by the score of 7-1. There were multiple contibutors to the Ironmen offense in today's contest. RBI singles came from Gavin Swartz (2026; Indiana Commit), Lucas Beaty (2027), Andrew Naour (2026), and Luke Potts (2027). Jacob Engel (2026) drew the bases-loaded walk while Max Heineman (2026; UIC Commit) hit the sacrifice fly. Three players had at least two stolen bases. This includes Drew Stevens (2026; Valparaiso Commit) with two, Andrew Naour with two, and Gavin Michaels (2026; Cincinnati Commit) with the team-leading three stolen bases. Josh Jones (2026; Indiana State Commit) threw six incredible innings by striking out 15 batters. Riley Larkin (2027) drove in the lone run for the Wildcats.

No. 5 Lockport defeated Lincoln-Way Central by the score of 5-1. Jack Schiek (2026; Purdue-NW Commit) led the Porters offense with two RBIs on his sacrifice fly and RBI groundout. Drew Satunas (2026; Grand Valley State Commit) and Frank Covelli (2027) both knocked in RBI singles. Jake Manzo (2027) stole four bases in this contest, including the steal of home. Anthony Farina (2027) pitched a 99-pitch complete game and struck out eight batters.

No. 6 Brother Rice defeated No. 22 St. Rita by the score of 9-2 in an Illinois Power 25 matchup. Luca Agne (2027; Boston College Commit) led the Crusaders offense by going 2-for-4 with a double, single, two stolen bases, a run scored, and three RBIs. Brady Cunningham (2027; Texas A&M Commit) knocked in two RBIs on his two-run double. Gavin Stanislawski hit a triple, stole one base, scored two runs, and knocked in an RBI. Nolan Ramoley (2026; Northwestern Commit) walked three times and stole two bags. Brayden McKendrick went 3.2 innings and recorded five punchouts. Austin Mrskos (2026) had a nice relief outing with 2.1 shutout innings and three strikeouts.

Cullen Winters went 2-for-4 with two singles, a run scored, and two RBIs. Mario Medina (2026; Davenport Commit) went 3-for-4 with three singles, two runs scored, and an RBI. Joey Ireland (2026; Illinois Commit) went 2-for-3 with an RBI double, single, hit by pitch, two stolen bases, and two runs scored. Jake Matise (2026; Lewis Commit) pitched a six-inning complete game and struck out four batters.

Miles Mazanowski (2027) knocked in a two-RBI double and a run scored. Tanner Toback (2027) hit an RBI single while Paris Head (2029) hit a sacrifice fly. Charles Lust (2027) tossed four scoreless frames and struck out five to earn the win.

No. 9 Libertyville shut out Buffalo Grove by the score of 13-0. The Wildcats offense was led by Trevor Wallace (2026; Ripon Commit) and Weston Wyzukovicz (2028). Wallace went 2-for-4 with two singles, a run scored, and three RBIs. Wyzukovicz hit a three-run home run and drew a walk. Brayden Ways knocked in a pinch-hit two-RBI double. Bode Rohrbach (2026) hit the RBI triple and stole a bag. Nico Harper (2026; Olivet Nazarene Commit) pitched a five-inning one-hit shutout and struck out four batters.

No. 10 Triad defeated Waterloo by the score of 7-1. Nolan Keller (2026; Kaskaskia JC Commit) led the Knights offense with two RBIs on his two-run double. Brody Hasquin (2027) and Nathan Klucker (2027) both hit a solo home run. Keegan Seipp (2027; Xavier Commit) and Kannon Seipp (2027; Jefferson JC Commit) both hit RBI singles in the fourth inning. Matt Morris (2028) dealt six innings and struck out five batters to earn the win.

No. 12 McHenry defeated Lake Zurich by the score of 4-3. Ryan Carzoli (2028) started the game and threw four innings and struck out four. Carson White (2027) came in relief and threw three innings and got the win. Garet Lobbins (2027) hit an RBI double to get the scoring started for the Warriors. In the bottom of the fifth, Carter Thornton (2027) tied the scoring at two with an RBI single while Landon Clements (2027; UIC Commit) hit the go-ahead sacrifice fly. Then, in the seventh inning, with the score tied at three, Gavin Polerecky hit the walk-off RBI double to win it for McHenry.

St. Bede took down No. 13 Marquette by the score of 6-1. The game was won by the Bruins in the second inning when they put up a six-spot. Maks Baker (2028) hit a three-run home run to lead the Bruins in RBIs. Geno Dinges (2027) knocked in a two-RBI single and scored a run. Ranbir Saini (2027) knocked in an RBI of his own while dealing six strong innings and striking out three to secure the win. The Marquette pitching staff combined to punch out 11 batters, including five from Griffin Dobberstein (2027) and six from Easton Debernardi (2027).

No. 14 Mascoutah blanked Highland 7–0 for its fourth consecutive shutout. The top four hitters in the lineup—Gabe James (2027; 2 H, 2 R), Nolan Lebert (2026; Olivet Nazarene commit; 2 H, 3B, 2 R, BB), Carson Moll (2026; Rend Lake JC commit; 2 H, 3B, 2 RBI), and Nathan Walker (2026; Southwestern Illinois JC commit; 2 H, 3 RBI)—each collected two hits to pace the Indians offense. Darren Klein (2027) got the start on the mound and went five innings with seven punchouts. Lebert went the last two innings without allowing a baserunner.

No. 16 Lincoln-Way West held on to defeat Bradley-Bourbonnais 10-9. Carson Paulas (2026; 2-for-3, 2 R, BB), Michael Pettit (2026; Notre Dame commit; 2-for-3, 2B, RBI, 3 R, BB, 2 SB), and Jackson Mansker (2026; Indianapolis commit; 2-for-3, 2B, 3 RBI, R, BB) were steady bats at the top of the order for the Warriors. Emmett Carlson (2027) got the win in relief tossing two innings, giving up one earned run. Aiden Fitzgerald (2027) had a huge day at the plate for the Boilermakers, going 4-for-4 with a HR and three RBI.

No. 20 Nazareth Academy won 17-12 over Evergreen Park to improve to 18-4 on the year. Gavin Hartigan (2028) paced the offense going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Marco Fiore (2028) (2 RBI, R, 3BB) and Nick Petrecca (2028) (4 RBI, R, 2 BB, SB) both had two hits on the day. Sean Stolfi (2026) added a single, two RBIs, run scored, two walks and a stolen base - while Florida State commit Landon Thome (2026) doubled and had three RBIs. Hector Valdez (2029) threw it well over four innings, not allowing a run and striking out three. Colin Dwyer (Ohio Wesleyan) earned the win with 0.2 innigns of work, striking out one.

Jackson Parker (2029) hit an RBI single and a sacrifice fly while stealing one base. Cole Becker (2026; Central Alabama CC Commit) hit an RBI single to knock in his RBI of the game. Anthony Perez (2026; Central Alabama CC Commit) went 2-for-4 with a double, single, two stolen bases, and two runs scored. Sam McCollum (2026; Drury Commit) tossed 3.1 relief innings and struck out three batters to take care of business.

Ryder Rennette (2028) was busy on the basepaths with a single and two stolen bases, including a steal of home. Brett Alkire (2027) drew two walks, including one with the bases-loaded to walk-off the game for the Eagles.

No. 24 Monticello defeated Rantoul 9–4 to earn its 22nd win of the season. The Sages jumped out to a 5–4 lead in the first inning and never looked back, holding control the rest of the way. Grant Kiger (2027) led the offense going 2-for-4 with a triple, two driven in, and two runs scored. Jax Bailey (2028; H, 3 RBI) also had a solid day at the plate. Dawson Gaitros (2027) looked sharp in relief, going four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out four.

No. 25 Edwardsville defeated Belleville East 6-1. Anthony Eberlin (2026; Texas Christian commit) got the win on the mound going five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, while striking out five. Tyson Wampler (2028) had two hits including a double and an RBI and freshman Andrew McCutchen collected two hits of his own, driving in one.

Staunton took down Carlinville 13-2. Junior Cincinnati commit Braylen Brown fired three innings with one run allowed and five strikeouts. Senior southpaw Tate Powell added three innings as well, striking out eight. Sophomore Kaiden Linkeman was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBIs. Seniors Carter Legendre, Matt Overby, sophomore Aiden Saracco and junior Lucas Coalson all had a hit and two RBIs.

Recap

Romeovolle took down Joliet West 3-2. Tyler Rizzatto threw it well over his four innings of work, scattering four hits with two runs and five strikeouts. Aiden Hernandez earned the win in relief, going three innings with no hits or runs allowed, striking out seven. Herndandez also had the game-winning base hit in the seventh inning. Richard Conley paced the offense with two hits and a double.

Bartlett took down Riverside-Brookfield 5-2. Valparaiso commit Brandon Pelz scattered two hits and two runs over his 4.2 innings of work, striking out eight. McHenry County commit Josh Colaizzi added 2.1 innings in relief with no hits and one strikeout - also giong 1-for-3 with a double at the plate. Freshman Mason Leiterman was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Harper commit Vince Yario was 1-for-4 with two RBIs. freshman Ryan Smith was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Sam Robles was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Westmont 14

Recap

Westmont took down Little Village 14-2 to improve to 16-8 on the year. Hank Barrett got the win on the mound with four innings, no earned runs and five strikeouts. Ricky Yenkin homered twice to power the offense, also collecting five RBIs. Jake Carney had three RBIs and Landon Hicks had two hits.

Recap

Morton took down Illinois Valley Central 11-2. Anderson Boss fired five strong innings with eight strikeouts, allowing one earned run. Cam Crawford swatted a grand slam - while Hudson Lovell had two RBIs and Jude Parnham had three RBIs.

Recap

Deerfield took down Glenbrook South 7-5. Johnny Green earned the win with 3.1 innings in relief, allowing just one hit, no runs, two walks and striking out four. Drew Wiener was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Easton Newman (2B, 2 RBI, R) and Will Swender (2B, RBI, 2 R) both had two hits.

Oak Park-River Forest took down Downers Grove North 7-1 to take the series and give coach Campbell his 100th career win. Zach Goldberg paced the offense with two hits, two runs scored and a walk, Ian Moore (2 R, 2 BB), Johnny Nelson (RBI, 2 R, BB) and Robert Kolovitz (3B, RBI, R) each had a hit apiece. Grayson Waters threw it well over his 4.1 innings of work, scattering four hits with one earned run, two walks and five strikeouts. Owyn Edwards added 2.2 innings in relief, not allowing a hit while walking one against three strikeouts.

Recap

Barrington took down Jacobs 6-5 behind a four-run third inning. Zack Ostergaard (2026; 3-for-4, 2B, R, 2 SB), Bowie Heintz (2027; 3-for-3, 2B, RBI), Jackson Roberts (2027; 2-for-3, RBI, 2 R, BB, SB), and Drew Whitney (2-for-4, 2B, RBI) powered the Broncos offense. Johnathan Radosh (2026) got the save allowing just one baserunner over the last 1.1 innings and striking out three. Brock Vincent (2028) recorded two doubles and drove in two for the Golden Eagles.
