GHSA Playoff Round-Up: Monday April 27th

It is playoff time in the state of Georgia, the best time of the year. As we nearly hit the 300 game mark in the regular season, we have 400 games in site with a full slate of playoffs the next month.

Evan Moody, OF, 2026, Carrollton

Impressive piece of hitting in a clutch spot from 2026 OF Evan Moody.

Key Moments: The Trojans would get on the board in the 3rd inning thanks to an RBI double from Kaleb Binion and a sacrifice fly from Evan Moody. As Carrollton led 2-0 going to the 4th. The score remained the same until the bottom of the 6th. Where Caleb Hudson added an insurance run via an RBI single and Evan Moody came through with a 2-out 2 RBI single as it was now 5-0 heading to the top half of the 7th. The Trojans would collect three outs as the score remained 5-0 as they punched their ticket to the Sweet 16 to take on Walton.

Avery’s Takeaway: Carrollton kept their championship hopes alive as they left no doubt in a shutout game three win to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. The Trojans leaned into their strengths on both sides of the ball to pitch a shutout 5-0 victory. Caleb Hudson, Kaleb Binion, and Evan Moody paced the offense with RBI knocks and Gunner Fokken led the way on the mound with a shutout 6.1 innings-pitched. The Trojans get a tall task and a Sweet Sixteen date with the reigning state champs in Walton, however talent litters the roster for Carrollton with upper class pieces that knows what it will take to knock off the Raiders.
