Tennessee Diamond Notes: Week 8

The Tennessee Diamond Notes is back for 2026 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance.
Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.
For now, let's take a look at those players from across the state highlighted in this week's Tennessee Diamond Notes.

TENNESSEE DIAMOND NOTES: WEEK 8
+ Easton Sullivan (Greenfield HS) Sullivan dominated in every phase, tossing a 5-inning perfect game with 10 K’s and adding a save, while going 7-for-12 with 2 doubles, 2 triples, and 7 RBIs at the plate.
+ Will Edwards (Greenfield HS) Edwards was equally electric, throwing a no-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts and producing offensively with a 6-for-12 week, 2 doubles, and 10 RBIs.
+ Clayton Speck (Briarcrest Christian HS) Speck had one of the loudest weeks offensively, going 9-for-11 with 2 HR and a 2.288 OPS, consistently driving the baseball.
+ Corbin Johnson (Seymour HS) Johnson hit .583 with extra-base impact, including a double and triple, continuing a strong season with consistent run production.
+ Dannen LaVella (Seymour HS) LaVella was efficient in a 7-inning CG shutout (73 pitches) and continues to dominate with a 5-0 record and 0.89 ERA.
+ Lucas Lingg (Clarksville HS) Lingg stayed hot, hitting .571 with clutch moments, including a game-winning double and a walk-off hit in district play.
+ James Hooker (Sevier County HS) Hooker filled the stat sheet, hitting .615 with a HR, 2 triples, and 7 RBIs, while striking out 8 in 3 innings to earn a win in relief.
+ Zane Miller (Sevier County HS) Miller continued his strong two-way play, hitting .455 with 5 RBIs and striking out 8 over 4 innings in a win.
+ Kamden Welch (Oak Ridge HS) Welch delivered a 7-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts, dominating from start to finish.
+ Drew McLemore (Giles Co.) Hit .625 with a 1.700 OPS while also striking out 2 in a clean inning on the mound.
+ Damarie Holt (Giles Co.) Reached at a high clip (.429 AVG, .600 OBP) and added 2 scoreless innings with 3 K’s.
+ Rhett Hayes (Giles Co.) Produced across the board with extra-base hits and speed, plus 2 scoreless innings on the mound.
+ Case Daly (Giles Co.) Contributed offensively and added 2 shutout innings with 2 K’s.
+ Clayton Mosley (Giles Co.) Hit .444 and picked up a win on the mound with 6 strikeouts in 5 innings.
+ Hunter Wilson (Giles Co.) Hit .556 with extra-base pop, continuing a strong offensive run.
+ Bowen Combs (Meigs County HS) Combs stayed scorching hot, hitting .545 with 3 HRs and 7 RBIs, now totaling 4 HRs in his last 5 games.
+ Jackson Green (Upperman) Green was dominant on the mound, striking out 17 over 7 innings, while also contributing at the plate.
+ Kole Carter (Cumberland Gap HS) Carter threw a 7-inning CG with 10 K’s and 0 ER, continuing his strong two-way play.
+ Case Rickman (McNairy Central HS) Rickman tossed a complete game shutout with 11 strikeouts, controlling the game throughout.
+ Alex Potter (Dickson County HS) Potter had a huge week, hitting .538 with 4 doubles, while also striking out 15 over 6 innings, including an immaculate inning.
+ Jack Dame (PCA) – Reached base consistently, hitting .385/.500 with 6 runs scored.
+ Josiah Allen (PCA) Logged 6 innings on the mound with just 1 ER and 5 K’s against defending state champion Columbia Academy
+ Matok Delk (PCA) Added 6 innings with 6 strikeouts in a solid outing against rival MTCS.
