Texas Diamond Notes: Week 10

The Texas Diamond Notes will focus on highlighting some of the top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Tuesday evening of the high school season that had impressive weeks during their team's games.

A special thank you to all of the high school coaches for nominating their players.

WEEK 10 DIAMOND NOTES

+ Pearson Fouts, Designated Hitter (Prosper, 2026; San Jacinto JC signee):

In nine plate appearances, Fouts went 5-for-6 with two doubles, one triple, one home run, two walks, and one hit-by-pitch. On April 24th against Plano West, he was a perfect 4-for-4, hitting two doubles, a triple, and a home run while drawing a walk, scoring three runs, and driving in three. For the season, he boasts a .343 batting average and a 1.117 OPS, accumulating 34 hits; which include nine doubles, two triples, and seven home runs, along with 29 RBI, 31 runs scored, 19 walks, and eight hit-by-pitches.


+ Ty Higginbotham, P (Atascocita, 2026; LSU-Eunice JC signee):

Pitching against Goose Creek Memorial, Higginbotham struck out 11 of the 15 batters he faced over five innings. Teammate Garet Hackenbruch pitched the final two innings and struck out six, resulting in a combined 17 strikeouts out of 21 total hitters faced in the game.


+ Antonio Martinez, OF (Round Rock Westwood, 2026; Blinn JC signee):

Playing for a playoff seed against the second-place team in District 25-6A, Martinez went 6-for-7 at the plate with two doubles, one home run, two RBI, and three runs scored. He capped off his performance by hitting a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning during game two of the series.


+ Trey Rangel, P/OF (The Colony, 2026; Texas signee):

In a 1-0 win against Wakeland, Rangel pitched seven innings, allowing just one hit and zero walks while striking out 16 batters, including striking out the side in the top of the seventh. In that same game, he provided the winning run by hitting a home run in the sixth inning. Overall during the series sweep of Wakeland, he tallied four hits, two home runs, and six RBI, notably hitting three straight home runs during the series.
