Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. Fresh off a walk-off victory from a continuation game, No. 1 St. Laurence routed No. 7 Chicago Mt. Carmel by the score of 18-6 in Illinois's top 10 matchup. The Vikings offense started out fast by putting up ten runs in the top of the first inning. Daniel Coyle (2026; Lewis Commit) hit a grand slam as part of that ten-spot. He went on to go 3-for-4 with that grand slam along with an RBI double and a two-RBI single that knocked in a total of seven RBIs for the game. Cory Les (2026; Louisville Commit) and Tristan Steger (2027; Kentucky Commit) both hit two-run home runs and drove in three RBIs. Evan Panther (2027) hit a two-RBI single to put himself on the board. Orlando Vazquez (2026) (2-for-3, RBI) and Evan Panther (2027) (1-for-3, 2 RBI) both chipped in offensively as well. John Strzechowski (2026; Lake Land JC Commit) pitched 4.1 innings and struck out three, which earned him the win. For Mt. Carmel, Christian Clark (2026; Triton JC Commit) and Joey Ireland (2026; Illinois Commit) both led the Caravan offense with two RBIs. Clark hit the two-run home run while Ireland provided an RBI double and RBI single.

H C. Johnson: 2-for-3, 3B, RBI

No. 2 Lincoln-Way East shut out Homewood-Flossmoor by the score of 4-0. The Griffins offense got the job done early. Cooper Johnson (2027; Purdue Commit) knocked in the first run with his RBI single in the first inning. Then, in the second inning, Nate Kaminski (2027) hit the RBI double while Evan Riiff (2027; Valparaiso Commit) hit the RBI triple. Matt Safarik (2026) stole two of the Griffins four bases in this contest. Colin Bettenhausen (2027) pitched a complete game shutout and struck out ten batters while only giving up three hits.

No. 3 Normal Community routed Centennial to a lobsided score of 19-2. There was lots of small ball played in this one for the Ironmen. Gavin Michaels (2026; Cincinnati Commit), Max Heineman (2026; UIC Commit), and Beckett Weber (2026) all scored on passed balls in the first inning. Bases-loaded walks came from Tyce Beckman (2026; North Central Missouri JC Commit), Holden Baldwin (2026), and Kyle Glass (2027). Josh Jones (2026; Indiana State Commit) got hit by a pitch to force in a run. Sacrifice flies came from Sal Gura (2027) and Chase Hendren (2026) (two of them). RBI hits came from Gavin Michaels, Andrew Naour (2026), Carter Harris (2026; Olivet Nazarene Commit), Holden Baldwin (2026), Owen Knox (2027), Sal Gura, and Oliver Vercruysse (2027). Vercruysse also took the mound and threw three shutout innings and struck out five batters.

Jacobs took down No. 4 Huntley by the score of 2-1. There was a pitcher's duel in this matchup between George Donze (2026; UW-Stevens Point Commit) of the Golden Eagles and Nate Larson (2027) of the Red Raiders. Donze went the distance with a complete game and five punchouts. Larson threw 4.2 innings and struck out eight batters while giving up only one hit. The scoring got started in the fifth inning when Jace Koth (2027) scored on a strikeout wild pitch. In the seventh inning with the game tied at one, Andrew Deegan (2026; Belmont Commit) hit the game-winning RBI double.

No. 5 Lockport defeated Lincoln-Way Central by the score of 5-3. The Porters offense was led by Adam Kozak (2026; Lewis Commit), who went 2-for-4 with two RBI singles and a run scored. Nick Moerman (2026) hit a single and a solo home run in this contest. Austin Winge (2027) pitched a quality start with five innings and eight strikeouts, which earned him the win.

No. 6 Brother Rice routed Loyola Academy to a final score of 14-2. The Crusaders offense was led by Brady Cunningham (2027; Texas A&M), who went 3-for-3 with two singles, a three-run home run, three runs scored, and four RBIs. Nolan Ramoley (2026; Northwestern Commit) and Brent Nevils (2026; Xavier (LA) Commit) hit back-to-back solo shots in this contest. Kyle Grady knocked in his two RBIs of the game on a two-run single. Luca Agne (2027; Boston College Commit) and Joey Escobarete (2027) both hit RBI doubles. Myles Broome (2027) was another key player that had a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, two singles, a hit by pitch, and an RBI. JJ Manos (2026; Butler Commit) tossed four scoreless frames and struck out four batters.

No. 9 Libertyville won huge against Waukegan with the final score of 15-0. The Wildcats offense was led by Trevor Wallace (2026; Ripon Commit), who accounted for five RBIs. He went 3-for-4 with a two-RBI double, a two-RBI single, and an RBI single while scoring two runs. Nick Sellers (2028) went 2-for-2 with two singles, a run scored, and three RBIs. Bode Rohrbach (2026) hit a two-RBI double. Chase Lockwood (2026; Illinois State Commit) hit the long ball with a two-run home run. Another key performer was Nick Farmakis (2026), who went 3-for-4 with a double, two singles, two stolen bases, three runs scored, and an RBI. Chase Lockwood, Ian Maddux (2026), and Theo Kellogg (2026; Indiana Wesleyan Commit) each struck out three batters and threw a combined one-hit shutout.

Brody Hasquin (2027) knocked in two RBIs on his two-run double. Pearce Goodfield (2026; Southwestern Illinois JC Commit) pitched a quality start by tossing 5.1 innings and four strikeouts to earn the win. Grayson Yank (2026) pitched the remaining 1.2 innings and recorded the five-out save.

No. 11 St. Joseph-Ogden lobsided Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley by the score of 16-1. Bryson Houchens (2026; Morton JC Commit) knocked in the majority of the Spartans RBIs with his 3-for-3 day at the plate. He hit a sacrifice fly, two-RBI double, and two home runs which brought in a total of eight RBIs of the game. Trevor Ames (2026; Morton JC Commit) went 1-for-4 with a two-RBI single and three RBIs. Logan Rosenthal (2026; Heartland CC Commit) went 4-for-4 with four singles, three stolen bases, four runs scored, and two RBIs. Will Haley (2026; Kankakee CC Commit) went 2-for-2 with an RBI double, single, walk, hit by pitch, three runs scored, and two RBIs. Trevor Ames threw a four-inning complete game and struck out six batters.

No. 12 McHenry blanked Prairie Ridge 12–0 in five innings to complete the two-game series sweep.Kaden Wasniewski (2027; Louisiana State commit) tossed four hitless innings, striking out four, and also contributed at the plate with two hits, including a double and three RBI. Carver Cohn (2028; 3-for-3, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R) and Nathan Neidhardt (2026; 2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R) also had big days at the plate to power the Warriors offense.

Alec Novotney (2026; Valparaiso commit) was stellar on the mound going six innings, allowing just one run while striking out 10. Grant Dose (2026; Morton JC commit; 3 BB, 3 R) and Braxton Nelle (2027; 2 H, RBI) led the Crusaders offense. Gus Burr (2026) and AJ Hermes (2026) each collected two hits for the Bruins.

Jack Slightom (2026; Cincinnati commit) was dominant on the mound, tossing a five-inning no-hitter while allowing just one walk and striking out eight. Seven players on offense recorded a hit, highlighted by Lou Ratcliffe (2026; Wisconsin-Oshkosh commit; 2-for-3, HR, 3 RBI). Nick Hines (2027), Aidan Webster (2027) and Lon Roberts (2026; Webster commit) all collected two hits and two runs scored for the Lions.

Luke Glotzbach (2027; H, 3 R) and Matthew Ciesla (2026; 2B, RBI) also contributed to the big win. Carson Caruso (2026) turned in a strong outing, allowing one run on one hit over three innings while striking out five.

All nine starters for the Vikings recorded a base hit in the contest, with Mason Bruesch (2027; Michigan State commit; 2-for-3, 2 RBI, R, SB), Alex Abraham (2027; 2-for-4, 2B, RBI, R) and Nick Torrence (2026; 2-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI, R) each collecting two hits. Joshua Kolton (2026) started the game behind the plate and recorded a hit and two RBI, then Shaylen Kshatriya (2026) went 2-for-2 off the bench, in a productive spot in the order for the Lancers.

Colin Quinn (2026; Heartland) paced the offense going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk. Aden Gutierrez (2028) chipped in with two hits and an RBI. Jayden Hawkins (2027) walked three times, scored three times and stole a base.

Glenbrook South took down Deerfield 3-2. James Dooman hit a solo home run in the 5th inning that ended up being the game winner. Henry Schott was strong going 5.1 innings giving up two runs, one earned, scattering six hits and striking out six. Jack Stefani closed the game with one scoreless inning with two strikeouts. Stefani and Christian Derosena each doubled going 1-for-3. Stefani scored on a Derosena RBI and Lukas Kourvetaris drove in the other Titan run.

Harlem took down Belvidere 12-1. Finn Stoval was 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored - breaking the all-time hits record with 128.

Crystal Lake South defeated Dundee-Crown 10-6 to earn the two-game series sweep. Nolan Dabrowski (2026; Wisconsin- River Falls commit) reached base all four times, recording four runs scored. Nick Stowasser (2027; 2 H, 2 RBI, 2 R) and John Morgan (2028; 2-for-4) each collected two knocks. Michael Silvius (2027) and Wes Bogda (2028) each recorded a hit and three RBI. Tanner Maurer (2027) was sharp in relief, going 2.1 scoreless innings, striking out five.
