Taking home this week’s pitching award is 2026 SS/RHP Hayden Hunt out of University Heights Academy. The senior two-way was instrumental in a perfect 5-0 week for the Blazers, helping propel them into the top five in the latest Power Rankings with a pair of dominant starts. Hunt first took the ball against a red-hot St. Mary squad, tossing 4.0 strong innings while allowing just two hits and one unearned run, striking out nine in a 14-1 victory. He followed that up with a statement performance in the All ‘A’ Classic semifinals, throwing a complete game gem against Campbellsville. The Indiana State commit went 7.0 innings, allowing just one hit and one unearned run while punching out an impressive 13 to secure a big time win. The righty was electric in front of the KY staff, running the fastball up to 91 mph while showing feel for two offspeed pitches to generate heavy swing-and-miss. He was perfect through the first five innings of the semifinal start, setting the tone early and never looking back. On the season, Hunt has been a cornerstone for one of the state’s hottest teams, totaling 20.2 innings with 39 strikeouts while continuing to face a tough schedule. He’s also been a major factor offensively, as the 6.63s runner is currently hitting .500 with 31 hits, 28 runs, and 17 stolen bases, showcasing his impact as a true two-way standout. Congratulations to Hayden Hunt on being named the Prep Baseball KY Pitcher of the Week!
