California Pitcher of the Week: Jeremiah Jennings

In a league matchup against Mira Mesa, Jennings took the ball and delivered a dominant performance, commanding the game with his fastball from start to finish.

The right-hander went the distance, firing a complete-game shutout with 17 strikeouts while allowing just two hits and one walk across 102 pitches. He set the tone immediately, striking out the first six batters of the game and finishing strong by recording five of the final outs via strikeout. Seventeen of the 21 outs he recorded came by way of the punchout, an eye-opening mark in a seven-inning outing.

The performance adds to an already impressive spring. As of the week ten start against Mira Mesa, the future UCSB Gaucho now owns a 1.70 ERA over 40.1 innings, striking out 63 while issuing just 11 walks and holding opponents to a .186 average. The outing, paired with a no-hitter earlier this season, gives him multiple standout performances and continues to solidify his impact on the mound.
