Prep Baseball Wisconsin Player of the Week: Dawson Luther
April 29, 2026
Wisconsin-Stevens Point recruit Dawson Luther has been a top performing bat for Pittsville helping them to a 3-0-1 record with the right-hander going 13-for-18 in that stretch while driving in 10 RBIs. For this reason, Luther has been named this week’s Player of the Week.
Starting off his week against conference rival Pacelli, who made a State Finals appearance along with Pittsville, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs, scoring four himself while also striking out six batters over six innings on the mound.
Luther would then go 3-for-5 with four RBIs and runs scored along with two doubles on Tuesday in a run-rule victory over Necedah and followed it up with a 2-for-4 day against Hillsboro in another run-rule victory.
Rounding off his week with a 8-8 tie against Medford, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored.
Luther has been one of the top performing hitters since the beginning of his prep career, having eclipsed the PIttsville all-time hits record in the middle of his junior year. Seemingly enjoying an even better start of his senior season hitting north of .600 through the first 11 games this year.
We're thankful for the POTW submissions we received from the coaches across the state. The players who garnered POTW consideration will earn a place within tomorrow's Diamond Notes story, so be on the lookout for that.
