NOTABLE RECAPS FROM WEDNESDAY
#4 Maple Mountain (4) vs. #7 Pleasant Grove (7)
The Pleasant Grove Vikings leaned on a high-octane performance from starter Mason Henry to navigate a power-heavy matchup and secure a 7–4 victory over the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles. Henry was nearly untouchable through five frames, racking up a staggering 12 strikeouts while surrendering only two hits to keep the Golden Eagles' offense largely at bay. Pleasant Grove found its own spark at the plate via Ryder Huntsman, who launched a crucial 2-run home run to provide a steady cushion. While Maple Mountain showcased its trademark power potential with long balls from Mitch Walker and Mick Winward, the Golden Eagles' pitching staff struggled with command in high-leverage spots, yielding seven free passes (walks and hit batsmen) that the Vikings capitalized on. Crew Anderson provided two solid innings of relief to shut the door, ensuring the Vikings walked away with a signature Region 7 win against a dangerous 5A opponent.

Herriman (3) vs. #12 Layton (4)
The Layton Lancers outlasted the Herriman Mustangs in a high-tension 4–3 extra-inning victory, punctuated by a resilient performance from the Lancers' bullpen. The contest was defined by a classic power stroke from Jowell Dasni, who cleared the fence for a two-run home run to provide the necessary offensive spark for Layton. Herriman’s Mason Greeno was a force on the mound, keeping the Mustangs in control for nearly six innings with four strikeouts and only one earned run allowed. However, the momentum shifted late, and Andres Cedeno stepped in to deliver two perfect innings of relief to earn the win. Despite multi-hit efforts from Cache Carter and a clutch RBI double from Cameron Pettitt, the Mustangs couldn't find the insurance runs needed to stop Layton from snatching the win in the eighth.

#16 Jordan (4) vs. #15 Skyridge (7)
The Skyridge Falcons capitalized on a flurry of extra-base hits and elite aggression on the basepaths to secure a 7–4 victory over the Jordan Beetdiggers in a clash of Region 3 foes. Skyridge’s offense was hyper-efficient, manufacturing seven runs on just seven hits, fueled largely by Boston Sundberg, who reached base in every plate appearance and drove in two runs while swiping two bags. Despite a towering two-run home run from Jordan’s Dallon Molder and a late triple from Talon Petersen, the Beetdiggers were unable to solve the Falcons' bullpen in the later frames. After a rocky start, Nathan Whitehead and Tate Young provided nearly six innings of combined relief, with Young tossing 2.1 scoreless innings to slam the door and ensure Skyridge walked away with the gritty divisional win.

Viewmont (9) vs. Woods Cross (8)
The Viewmont Vikings flipped the script in their Region 6 rivalry series, surviving a chaotic late-inning rally to secure a gritty 9–8 upset over the Woods Cross Wildcats. Just one day after being shut out by this same Wildcats squad, Viewmont's bats came alive early, powered by a solo home run from Braxton Allred and a relentless 3-for-4 performance from Gehrig Lee, who slapped two doubles and scored three times. While Woods Cross manufactured eight runs on just six hits—fueled by a pair of doubles from AJ Ayala and a steady stream of walks—the Vikings’ bullpen finally found its footing when it mattered most. Henry Felt stepped onto the mound in the sixth to stifle the comeback, tossing 1.1 innings of scoreless relief to protect the narrow lead and snap the Wildcats' seven-game winning streak in a dramatic midweek thriller.

North Sanpete (9) vs. Union (6)
The North Sanpete Hawks secured a massive bounce-back win on the road, snapping a four-game skid and a long-standing winless streak against the Union Cougars with a gritty 9–6 victory. In a high-stakes 3A Region clash, the Hawks utilized a relentless offensive attack, racking up 11 hits to hand the Cougars their first loss in region play. Bryce Swapp delivered a gutsy performance on the mound, battling through heavy traffic to earn the win while simultaneously providing a spark at the top of the lineup with two hits and two stolen bases. Wyatt Williams was a constant force, finishing a near-perfect 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two steals of his own to keep the pressure on. While the Cougars found life through a powerhouse afternoon from Cade Frandsen—who drove in four of Union's six runs—the North Sanpete relief effort proved decisive. Jaydyn Robinson was flawless over the final three innings, yielding no runs to silence the Union bats and secure the signature conference win.
