MISSISSIPPI - The Sweet 16 round of the MHSAA Class 1A-7A state baseball playoffs delivered no shortage of standout performances as teams across the state began their championship quests. From dominant pitching to explosive offensive outbursts, players stepped up in big moments to lead their teams to crucial playoff victories that punched tickets to the Sweet 16. Here’s a look at some of the top individual performers who made a major impact and helped set the tone for what’s shaping up to be another exciting week of postseason play in Mississippi.

PLAYOFF PERFORMERS

+ Jayden Greene (New Site HS) had a monster series in the sweep of Leland, going a perfect 5-for-5 with a grand slam, a triple, 8 RBIs, and a stolen base, completely dominating at the plate.

+ Jaxson McKinney (New Site HS) delivered big-time power as a freshman, going 3-for-4 with 2 home runs, 6 RBIs, and a walk, showing major upside.

+ Rilyn Lambert (New Site HS) stayed perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run, 5 RBIs, and 2 walks, consistently producing in every at-bat.

+ Colton Trimble (New Site HS) impacted the game in multiple ways, going 3-for-5 with a triple, home run, 3 RBIs, a stolen base, and a walk.

+ Dawson Trout (New Site HS) set the tone offensively and on the bases, going 4-for-4 with a double, 2 RBIs, and 3 stolen bases.

+ Landyn Anderson (Forrest County AHS) put together a huge series, hitting .500 with a .545 OBP, driving in 10 RBIs and launching 3 home runs, including a grand slam.

+ Parks Brock (Forrest County AHS) starred both ways, hitting .500 with a .727 OBP, 4 RBIs, and a home run while also tossing 5.1 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts.

+ Lee Roberts III (Forrest County AHS) was dominant at the plate and on the mound, hitting .500 with a .727 OBP, 6 RBIs, and 2 home runs while striking out 8 over 4 innings.

+ Parker Hawkins (Sumrall HS) had a big series, going 4-for-9 with a double, 2 home runs, 8 RBIs, and 6 runs scored, leading the offensive charge.

+ Drew Davis (Sumrall HS) delivered a complete performance, going 6-for-11 with extra-base hits while also dominating on the mound with 13 innings, 2 wins, and 21 strikeouts.

+ Braelyn Harrison (Sumrall HS) stayed tough at the plate, going 4-for-9 with a double, 3 RBIs, 3 runs, and 4 hit-by-pitches.

+ Corey Paul Bond (Sumrall HS) provided steady production, going 4-for-9 with 4 RBIs and drawing 4 walks.

+ Braylen Graham (Sumrall HS) added power to the lineup, going 4-for-10 with a double, home run, and 4 RBIs.

+ Seth Welch (Hamilton HS) was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with 2 doubles, a triple, 3 RBIs, and 5 runs scored.

+ Ian Nichols (Hamilton HS) filled up the stat sheet, going 3-for-3 with 2 triples, a double, 4 RBIs, 5 runs, and 2 walks.

+ Myles Self (Hamilton HS) continued his strong play, going 4-for-4 with a double, 5 RBIs, 5 runs, and a walk.

+ Paxton Dobbs (Hamilton HS) stayed hot, going 4-for-4 with a triple, 3 RBIs, and a walk.

+ Justin Verner (Hamilton HS) delivered a big swing, going 3-for-5 with a home run and 6 RBIs.

+ J.D. Whitaker (Hamilton HS) added to the offensive explosion, going 2-for-3 with a home run, 5 RBIs, 3 runs, and a walk.
