WEEK 10 SCOUT BLOG

Prosper vs. Plano West

6’5 190, great build/frame to add strength. Repeats delivery, arm works, avg arm speed present. FB 86-88 with life present to arm side. Look for velocity spike to come. SL 75-78, manipulates action, gets swing and miss when landed.
Love the projection, will get stronger and throw harder. One to watch develop.

Quinn Kelley | 3B | Prosper | 2027 | Uncommitted
2nd week in a row mentioning the uncommitted corner infielder. Will be plus defender at 3rd. Actions present with solid 1st step. Projects to have plus arm. Hit approach developing, flashes ability to impact baseball. Projects well.

Abraham Perez | MIF | Plano West | 2027 | Frank Phillips Commit
6’3 175 lean build with frame to add strength. Shows body control and agility on defense. Raw arm strength present to plan left side of infield. 7.16 60, expect speed to tick up some with added strength. Hit over power with solid approach to hit.
Infielder with upside.

Pleasant Grove vs. Sulphur Springs

Hunter Rose | LHP/OF | Pleasant Grove | 2026 | Arkansas commit
Athletic. Will add strength to 6’0 190lb build. Strike thrower with feel to pitch. Works both sides of plate, ability to manipulate blended breaking ball. FB 90-93, showed 93 in 4th inning. 75-79 breaking ball. Change 73-78 action present, deception hindered by slowed delivery along with slowed arm speed.
Definite starter, will continue to add velocity and firm secondary. Potential draft.

Spencer Browning | INF | Pleasant Grove | 2026 | Arkansas commit
Solid build/frame, will add strength. Athletic. Steady defensively with actions, can play anywhere on the infield. Solid hit approach showing ability to leave to pull side. Hard contact off barrel all night in game seen. Steady performer when I have been in the ballpark.

Jason Vergel | CF | Sulphur Springs | 2028 | Uncommitted
Plus 3 sport athlete. Great build/frame to add strength. 6’4 185. Projects as plus CF, closes on baseball with quality reads off bat. Developing at plate, shows ability to impact baseball to pull side.
Exiting player to watch develop. Player who could make big jump over the summer.

Caddo Mills vs. Community

6’2 188 with build/frame to add strength. Repeats delivery and arm action. Above avg strike thrower. FB 84-87 (working on short rest, 2 IP Tuesday) Split 76-79, CB 72-74. Feel for secondary present, swing and miss with CB.
Will throw harder. Strikes with feel for stuff, will help someone in college.

Melissa vs. Walnut Grove

Will add strength. Repeats delivery, arm works. Strike thrower with feel to pitch. Worked both sides of plate with stuff. Feel for CB present showing ability to manipulate action. Change with deception/action.
Definitely one to watch develop. Strikes, touched 88.

Rockwall vs. Rockwall Heath

Great build/frame to add strength. 6’2 185lb. Defensively has versatility to play corner inf and OF spots. Aggressive swinger, showing solid contact off barrel. Looking for power to increase as strength is added. Plays hard, love the makeup.

Reid Overstreet | OF/LHP | Rockwall | 2028 | Uncommitted
Solid build/frame, will add strength. 6’1 190lb. Defensively can play all 3 OF spots, shows range to gaps. Avg HS arm strength now, will continue to develop. Aggressive hitter with bat speed present, shows ability to impact baseball. Describe his approach as swing hard in case you hit it. (nothing wrong with that)
On the mound, has touched 91 this spring, command/control must firm. Raw stuff there.

Zach Barnes | 3B/RHP | Rockwall | 2028 | Uncommitted
Solid build with thickness to lower. On the mound, strike thrower with feel to pitch. FB 83-87, CH 78-79, CB 71-73, SL 76-78. Feel to pitch present. Looking for velocity to develop. Flashes feel for secondary. Went CG in district winning game.
RHH…solid hit approach with developing ability to impact baseball.
Young player to watch develop.

Nate Cisneros | OF | Rockwall Heath | 2027 | Uncommitted
Athletic LHH with frame/build to add strength. 6.88 60yd at past event.
Solid hit approach using all fields with solid contact. Hit over power. Shows range in OF going either direction, takes good angles to baseball.
Player who will continue to develop with added strength. Knows how to play the game.

Hargrave vs. Hamshire-Fannett

Toby White | OF | Hargrave | 2026 | ETBU Commit
Physical and athletic player who leads off for Hargrave. Has the ability to drive runs in with extra base hits. Went 7-10 this week with 7 RBI’s, 2 HR’s and 5 stolen bases. Solid mover in the OF with plenty of arm. Committed to play football at ETBU. Chance to play both sports at the next level.

Bryce Nixon | SS | Hargrave | 2026 | LSU Eunice Commit
I really like Nixon’s presence in the box. Very balanced swing and uses his hands well. Turns the barrel out and shows strong bat/ball skill. Solid defender at SS. Competes on both sides of the ball. LSUE will not be his last stop.

Braydon Wisener | RHP | Hargrave | 2026 | LSU Commit
Another solid outing by the highly touted right hander. Pitched at 90-93. Ran it up to 94-95 when he needed to. CB was his best secondary pitch. Punched 11 hitters in 5 IP. Gave up only 1 hit and did not walk a batter. Excited to watch his development at the next levels.

Oak Ridge vs. The Woodlands

Jonell Rodriguez | 3B | Oak Ridge | 2027 | Houston Commit
Handsy left handed stroke with some pop to all fields. Turns the barrel out well. Put together a multi hit game to help the War Eagles become District Champs, which included a double to the LCF wall. Versatile defender. Projects as a 3B/2B type at the next level. Player to watch this summer.

Luis Olmeda | LHP/OF | Oak Ridge | 2027 | Uncommitted
Olmeda sat 90-93, on the bump, with a quick arm and smooth delivery. Serviceable SL with developing actions. It will continue to sharpen. Very projectable mid 90’s+ arm. Definitely a 2 way prospect. Moves well in his OF play and around the bases. Quick bat with some presence in the box. I would not expect him to be uncommitted much longer.

Chase Bradley | C | The Woodlands | 2026 | Angelina Commit
Bradley works well behind the dish. Motor runs well and he is not afraid to compete. Quick exchange and accurate thrower. Gap to gap style hitter at the plate. Excited to watch his continued development at Angelina. Grinder.

Jack Smejkal | RHP | The Woodlands | 2026 | Texas Commit
After the first inning, Smejkal settled in and made some adjustments. Started changing speeds more with the SL and split change. Went on to put together 6 IP with 10 K’s. Great to see a top prospect have some adversity and work their way through it. Showed some mental toughness and the ability to make adjustments. True markers of long term success.

Friendswood vs. Iowa Colony

Landon Collins | LHP | Friendswood | 2026 | Texas Tech Commit
Collins went 7 IP with 0 R, 3 H, 1 BB and punched out 9. FB sat 86-89 with a ton of ASR. Sweeping SL in the 76-78 range. CH sat 77-79. Love the command, movement and ability to change speeds here. Couple that with some deception to his delivery and you have a deadly combo. Competitor on the mound with a slow pulse.

Noah Nelson | OF/RHP | Friendswood | 2026 | Uncommitted
Nelson showed his ability to handle the bat and hit plus velo. Bunted for a base hit early in the ball game and lined a base hit to RF late. Ended up being the only run scored in a 1-0 victory. Bats 4 hole for and plays a steady RF for the Mustangs.

Peyton Resnick | 1B | Friendswood | 2026 | Uncommitted
Resnick put together a solid performance to propel the Mustangs to District Champs. Started his day with a line drive UTM off one of the top arms in the state. Put together a great AB with a deep sac fly, the other way, to drive in the only run of the game (1-0 victory). Very solid presence at the plate all game. Can help somebody at the next level.

Ryan Chism | MIF | Friendswood | 2028
Always good to see a Top PBR ranked player in action. Chism was 3 for 8 on the week which included a double. Solid mover on the field and projects as a possible plus runner. Quick hands and barrel at the plate. Lean/athletic frame that will continue to add strength and size in the future. Will be keeping a close eye on him this summer.

Caiden Wells | SS | Friendswood | 2026 | Blinn Commit
I really like Wells on both sides of the ball. Consistently makes plays at SS every time we see him. Feet and hands work and has plenty of arm to play on the left side of the diamond. Shows rhythm to his swing with the ability to stay inside the baseball. Proven record at hitting top end pitching. Excited to watch him continue his development at Blinn.

Landon Brown | RHP | Iowa Colony | 2026 | Mississippi State Commit
Brown has been dominant on the mound every time I’ve seen him. He did not have his best stuff this week and still held a top contender to just 1 run. FB sat 93-95 and T96. SL sat 82-85 and was his best secondary pitch this week. CU was 88-91 and SPL 78-82. Did not have his usual feel for the SPL (which is a swing/miss pitch) but still threw some good ones. Utilized his FB and SL a little more. Have always liked his demeanor on the mound.

Cedar Park vs. Liberty Hill

Jordan Andrews | 1B/LHP | Liberty Hill | 2026 | Blinn Commit
The talented 2 way has always shown a competitive edge and it was on display again on a cold and rainy night in Cedar Park. He got the start on the mound and after a shaky first inning, battled to keep his team in it and eventually got the win. Worked 84-87 with the FB and landed a CB at 70 & a SL at 73. Not as many strikes as normal due to the tough conditions but never folded.

Carson Sharp | C/RHP | Liberty Hill | 2026 | Louisiana Tech Commit
Sharp is a physical backstop with the ability to impact the baseball. He had 2 RBI in this game and also pitched the final 2 innings on the mound in the Panthers win. He was 87-92 on the FB with a true SL at 80-81. All around ball player with arm strength and power in the box.

Owen Mansfield | INF | Cedar Park | 2026 | Temple College Commit
On senior night, Mansfield had a homer and a double. The HR was to the opposite field in cold and rainy conditions. He later doubled in the gap late to give CP some life. Mansfield had a really good regular season for the Timberwolves and is one of those players that is still not done getting better.

Brandon Washburn | C | Cedar Park | 2027 | Uncommitted
Impressive stuff from the uncommitted backstop. Threw out 2 runners at second with pop times around 2 flat, showing a quick transfer and an accurate arm. Received and blocked well all night. He added an RBI single as well. Helps the team in a lot of ways.

Hudson Cuevas | MIF | Cedar Park | 2027 | Oklahoma State Commit
The 2025 Future Gamer got some quality swings off last week. He came up empty on a few hard hit balls to the pul side. Continues to show ability to impact the baseball and make hard contact on a consistent basis. Was all around the diamond making plays on defense as well. Hitter.
