As we have for the past few years, each week we will be highlighting the staff's pick for the VA/DC High School Player of the Week. Each selection is made from a game that a staff member was at the previous week. While last week, due to spring break in a few places, was a bit lighter in terms of total game count, it was not light in terms of big output from players. Take a look at who brings home the Week 8 Player of the Week.

VA/DC Player of the Week: Bryant James

While we will focus mostly on the WCAC Championship Series, we will also take a comprehensive look at the entire week of playoff games. The UVA commit had 11 hits in 16 at-bats, with two homers, eight runs, and four RBI. In addition to his week long look at his performance, it was his level of play he brought to the three game set with Paul VI that carried this through for the POTW honors. James hit .600 in the series with four runs scored and a homerun. With a full season look, James is hitting .553 with one week of play remaining. He has been one of the best offensive producers in the state this year and is a major reason why Bishop O'Connell has had the success that they have.
