Alika Ahu turned in one of the top performances of the tournament, leading PAC-5 on both sides in an 8-0 win over unbeaten Waiakea. Ahu worked 6.0 shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out eight, then helped his own cause with a 3-for-4 day at the plate with two RBI and two stolen bases, continuing his monster season.

PAC-5 jumped out early with two runs in the first and kept pressure on throughout, before putting the game away with a five-run sixth. Espn Bennett and Titan Dixon added offensive production, while Noah Keitzer handled the final inning to finish off the shutout.

Waiakea was held to just two hits and committed four errors, as PAC-5 continued its strong playoff run with another commanding W. They will play the Mililani Trojans for the D1 title tonight at 7PM.

Mililani (3) vs. Kamehameha (2) — Final

Mililani edged Kamehameha Kapalama, 3-2, in a tight pitcher’s duel, with Zayne Hookala going the distance for the Trojans. Hookala worked 7.0 innings on 100 pitches, allowing two runs, one earned, while giving Mililani the complete-game effort it needed.

Jonah Parker led the offense with a strong day at the plate, collecting two hits and driving in two of Mililani’s three runs. Knox Marzo and Koa Marzo Jr. each scored, as the Trojans did just enough offensively to hold off a late push from Kamehameha.

Kaikea Patoc-Young was strong in the loss, working all 6.0 innings while allowing just one earned run and striking out six. It was an intense battle between two of the top arms in the state, with Mililani doing enough late to advance to tonight’s championship game against PAC-5.

Honokaa stayed perfect at 16-0, but Kauai made them work for it. The Warriors built their lead incrementally, scoring in the first, adding two in the third, one in the fourth, and one in the sixth to take a 5-0 advantage before Kauai got on the board late. Rory Crabbe opened on the mound for Honokaa and held Kauai to one earned run across 3.0 innings before Isaac DeRego took over and was untouchable the rest of the way, throwing 4.0 innings without allowing a hit.

DeRego also came through at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Kamalaa Kaae-Petrie contributed two hits and an RBI, and Jayden Salazar went 2-for-3 keep things moving. For Kauai, Kaiea Nishi was the bright spot in both roles, throwing 3.1 innings of two-run ball with three strikeouts and also driving in a run at then plate. Drake Vigilia drew a walk and scored, Jonas Delos-Reyes came around to score in the seventh, and Drake Javier added a hit as Kauai showed some fight despite being held to three hits on the day.

Damien held off Hawaii Prep, 4-3, in a tight one that came down to the final innings. The Monarchs jumped out with two runs in the first, then added two more in the seventh to create just enough separation.

Freshman DJ Johnasen gave Damien 3.2 innings to start before Sam Cezar-Kanakaole took over and shut it down, working 3.1 scoreless innings to earn the win. Seguancia drove in two runs at the plate, while Ikena Weisbarth added an RBI and Kekona Begonia scored twice.

Hawaii Prep made its push with three runs in the fourth and finished with seven hits on the day. Asher Andersen and David Culbertson each went 2-for-3, but Damien was able to hold off the late pressure and move on with the walk off win.
