2026 Prep Baseball Kansas POWER 25 - WEEK 8

This spring continues to be a turbulent and competitive season, as nearly every team in our rankings added a mark to the loss column over the past week.

The top five remains unchanged in this update, with the first significant movement coming from Salina Central and Manhattan. Both programs slide up to No. 6 and No. 7, respectively, as Olathe East and St. Thomas Aquinas drop following recent losses. Thomas More Prep-Marian also falls out of the top ten after suffering its first loss of the season at the hands of Manhattan this past week.

De Soto rises to No. 11, sitting just outside the top ten as they continue to be one of the hottest teams in the state. Now winners of 11 in a row, the Wildcats defeated Spring Hill and swept conference rival Lansing this past week. They now sit alone in first place in 5A East as we enter the final week of the regular season.

The middle of the rankings saw some shuffling, headlined by Blue Valley West dropping five spots to No. 17 following a 1-2 week, though they did manage a bright spot with a win over Olathe East. Meanwhile, Shawnee Mission West and Olathe South both moved up three spots into the top 20, bolstered by quality wins over Olathe East and Mill Valley, respectively.

Shawnee Heights re-enters the rankings at No. 20 following a statement sweep of Washburn Rural that headlined a 4-1 week. They are followed by Kapaun Mt. Carmel, which enters for the first time this season at No. 21. The Crusaders are fresh off wins over Andover and Andover Central, adding those to a resume that already includes victories over Maize South, St. James, and Bishop Carroll. Lastly, Washburn Rural, Hayden, and Concordia all fall in the rankings to round out the update after a series of rough outings.
