2026 Preseason ID-Western Iowa: Quick Hits

Sioux City, Iowa  - On Saturday, May 2nd, Prep Baseball Iowa held its Preseason ID - Western Iowa at the Seaboard Triumph Foods Expo Center in Sioux City. The event featured over 30 prospects from the class of 2026 through 2029. The event featured many solid performances from the players in attendance. Thank you to the players, parents, coaches and the Seaboard Triumph Foods Expo Center staff for such a great event.

QUICK HITS

Henry Heller LHP / OF / MOC-Floyd Valley High School, IA / 2028


Strong, athletic, projectable frame; an explosive coordinated mover. Works the middle of the field consistently with flashes of plus raw power. Above-average arm strength with carry and accuracy in the outfield which translates to the mound where he shows feel for all his pitches with a repeatable delivery.

Brett McInnis C / RHP / Le Mars High School, IA / 2027


Two-way prospect, long-levered, athletic catcher/pitcher with continued physical projection. Strong lower half and coordination support his multi-positional value, though his primary future lies behind the plate or on the mound.

JJ Hope SS / 2B / Bishop Heelan Catholic High School, IA / 2027


A compact, high-motor athletic middle infielder with quick-twitch actions and room to add strength. Hope has shown steady development as a high school underclassman and stands out for his defensive instincts, footwork, and improving bat speed/power.

Austin Leander LHP / OF / East High School, IA / 2028


A left-handed hitter and thrower with a projectable frame and athleticism. Leander has shown strong development as a sophomore, standing out for his improving velocity on the mound, power, and outfield tools. 

Dylan Knapp OF / RHP / Bishop Heelan Catholic High School, IA / 2028


The lean, athletic right-handed hitter and thrower has room to add strength. Knapp is a versatile underclassman who contributes in the outfield and on the mound. He has shown steady tool development with strong athleticism and baseball IQ.
