Thomas Shank SS / OF / Rock Canyon, CO / 2028Shank remains Colorado’s No. 1-ranked 2028 prospect and brings one of the highest ceilings in the class, both athletically and offensively. Already posting a 6.9 60-yard dash, the Super Sophomore Games standout pairs that speed with an evolving left-handed hit tool that shows strength to all fields and growing impact potential. He profiles as a true center fielder defensively, covering ground with ease and backing it up with an 86 mph outfield arm. At this year’s Preseason All-State event, Shank also ran his exit velocity up to 98+ mph, further pointing to the upside in the bat. This spring, Shank has taken another step forward offensively for Rock Canyon, hitting .354 with 7 extra-base hits, 6 stolen bases, and just an 8% strikeout rate across 80 plate appearances at the 5A level. In a class loaded with projectable hitters, Shank continues to separate himself as a high-upside prospect and a very close follow moving forward.

Travis Kenz SS / RHP / Valor Christian, CO / 2028Kenz is another left-handed bat worth following closely as we near Future Games. The shortstop stands out for his all-around feel for the game, paired with a hit tool that consistently translates to in-game impact. This spring, Kenz is again hitting .340, but has flashed more power in the bat with 4 home runs, showing continued offensive growth and a more aggressive approach at times. He’s a hitter who limits the swings and misses, displaying advanced barrel feel, and a knack for putting together quality at-bats. Defensively, Kenz continues to show evolving feel up the middle, with improving actions, body control, and internal clock at shortstop. As he continues to develop physically, his ability to handle the position and impact the game on both sides of the ball makes him an intriguing follow as a left-handed hitting shortstop in this class.

Nick Dubofsky RHP / 1B / Boulder, CO / 2028Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 1
Dubofsky headlines Colorado’s premier 2028 arms at the top of the class, presenting a deceptive look from the right side with advanced pitchability and feel for spin. Our scouting staff has seen him run his fastball into the upper 80s to around 90 mph in 2026, and his whippy lower three-quarter arm slot continues to give hitters fits in-game with a tough angle and late life. This spring, Dubofsky has pitched to a 1.83 ERA with 42 strikeouts across 34.1 innings against 5A competition, showing the ability to consistently miss bats while limiting damage. He spins both his fastball and breaking ball into the 2400s and shows feel for a changeup around 1400 rpm, giving him a well-rounded, projectable arsenal. With his combination of deception, spin traits, and strike-throwing ability, Dubofsky is an arm to circle in Colorado’s 2028 class as he continues to trend upward.

Kai Wagner OF / RHP / Rocky Mountain, CO / 2028Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 1
Wagner has made a noticeable jump since last summer’s Super Sophomore Games, now running his fastball up around 90 mph while adding a much-improved curveball he’s been able to manipulate for both strikes and whiffs this spring. Our scouting staff was on hand for one of Northern Colorado’s top rivalries when Rocky Mountain faced Fossil Ridge, and Wagner spun a gem, going 5 innings with 8 strikeouts, 0 earned runs, just 2 hits allowed, and only 1 walk. Wagner works quickly on the mound and feeds off his tempo, attacking hitters early and often with his full arsenal. At 6'1", 161 lbs, there’s still plenty of physical projection remaining, pointing to more velocity on the way. With the jump in stuff and improved feel for his breaking ball, Wagner has pitched to a 2.02 ERA with 50 strikeouts across 34.2 innings, continuing to trend upward as a high follow arm in the class.

Brady Harman SS / 2B / Chatfield High School, CO / 2028Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 3
Harman might have the most pop among the top left-handed hitters in this class, already belting 5 home runs while hitting .400 across his first 76 plate appearances this spring. The Chatfield infielder features a simple, yet strong and twitchy swing from the left side that projects well for continued development. There’s also present strength in the profile, backed by a 99 mph top exit velocity from prior events. Harman shows developing athleticism as an underclassman, running a 7.00 60-yard dash with a chance to improve on that mark moving forward. As a left-handed hitting infielder with power upside, both the floor and ceiling remain high as he continues to evolve at the high school level.

Nolan Taylor 3B / RHP / Northfield, CO / 2028Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 1
Taylor is an intriguing two-way prospect who has really popped on the mound in 2026. At 6'4", 188 lbs, he ran his fastball up to 92 mph at this year’s Preseason All-State event and has carried that momentum into the spring, racking up 36 strikeouts across 27.1 innings. Taylor shows impressive feel for his frame, using long, athletic levers to create angle and extension down the mound. There’s clear projection remaining in the body, with plenty of room to add strength, which should translate to continued velocity gains and overall stuff. As he continues to refine his mechanics and build consistency, the combination of size, athleticism, and arm talent points to significant upside on the mound moving forward.

Karter Robertson SS / RHP / Vista Peak Prep, CO / 2028Rankings StateRank: 7 / POS: 4
Robertson has stormed onto the scene in 2026 thanks to outstanding production as a sophomore at the 5A level. Across 80 plate appearances this spring, he’s hitting .425 with 7 home runs, 7 doubles, and 2 triples, establishing himself as one of the more impactful bats in the class. The upside doesn’t stop there, Robertson’s tall, high-waisted frame offers plenty of projection moving forward, and he shows solid feel in the infield with smooth hands and an arm that plays across the diamond. In a class loaded with high-end hitters, Robertson has separated himself with his offensive production while still offering intriguing long-term upside.

Mason Clark SS / OF / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2028Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 5
Clark stands out as one of the better athletes in the class, highlighted by a 6.7 60-yard dash, 99 mph top exit velocity, and an 84 mph infield arm. The toolsy infielder has translated those traits into strong in-game production this spring at the 5A level, currently hitting .367 with 13 stolen bases in 19 games. Clark’s speed and athleticism play on both sides of the ball, giving him range in the infield and impact potential on the bases. Offensively, he projects well near the top of the order, with the ability to put pressure on defenses and continue to develop as a dynamic table-setter. With his versatile skill set and physical tools, Clark has the upside to move around the field while continuing to impact the game in multiple ways moving forward.
