Every week, coaches around the state submit their nominations for the Prep Baseball California Player of the Week for NorCal and SoCal. For Week 11, we are not nominating any players for Players of the Week honors. Check back next week to see Week 12's Players of the Week.

With several other impressive performances across the past week that were in the mix for both awards and deserve recognition, here is a rundown of some of the other standouts of the week. If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please be sure to fill out this form before noon on Mondays. 

WEEK 11 DIAMOND NOTES

+ Kalil Gray, RHP (Heritage, 2026)

Gray turned in back-to-back complete-game performances against Alameda and Liberty, totaling 14 innings while allowing just 10 hits, three runs (one earned), no walks, and striking out 16. On the season, Gray is 6-0 over 34.1 innings with a 1.43 ERA, 31 strikeouts, and seven walks.

+ Austin Finegan, CF/P (Buchanan, 2026) — Cal commit

Finegan contributed on both sides of the ball, throwing 5.1 innings while allowing two earned runs, while also going 4-for-10 with three home runs, six runs scored, three walks, and a hit-by-pitch. On the season, Finegan is hitting .385 with 32 runs scored, 20 RBIs, and a .705 slugging percentage.

+ Jordan Vogel, SS (Arcadia, 2027)

Vogel had an outstanding two-game series against Crescenta Valley, reaching safely in all nine plate appearances while going 5-for-5 with a double, three RBIs, three runs, and four walks. On the season, Vogel is hitting .447 (38-for-85) with 11 doubles, three triples, a home run, 22 RBIs, 26 runs, and 14 stolen bases.

+ Damian Catano, LHP/1B (Arcadia, 2026) — St. Mary’s commit

Catano delivered another dominant two-way performance, throwing a five-inning complete-game shutout while allowing just one hit and striking out seven, while also going 5-for-6 with a double, five RBIs, and four runs scored in a two-game series against Crescenta Valley. On the season, Catano is 7-4 with one save, a 1.35 ERA, and 79 strikeouts over 75 innings, while hitting .400 (30-for-75) with seven doubles, two triples, a home run, 26 RBIs, and 21 runs.

+ Carlos Munoz, RHP (Gahr, 2027)

Munoz tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits with six strikeouts and no walks. On the season, Munoz owns a 1.60 ERA with 36 strikeouts over 36 innings.

+ Kaleb Derosier, OF/P (Maranatha, 2026) — UC Irvine commit

Derosier had a massive week offensively, hitting .769 across four games with 10 hits in 13 at-bats, including three doubles, a triple, two home runs, and 10 RBIs. He also earned a win on the mound with three scoreless innings. On the season, Derosier is hitting .522 with four home runs and 20 RBIs in just 16 games.

+ Santiago Carlos, C (Washington-Fremont, 2028)

Carlos had a strong showing offensively, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two walks, highlighted by his first career home run — a grand slam — against James Logan. On the season, Carlos is hitting .292 in league play.

+ Trevor Harper, 1B (Clovis North, 2026)

Harper stayed hot across a three-game series against Buchanan, going 6-for-8 with two doubles, two home runs, three RBIs, three runs scored, and four walks while setting the school single-season doubles record with his 16th double. On the season, Harper has recorded 42 hits, 16 doubles, three home runs, 26 RBIs, 32 runs, and five stolen bases while striking out just twice.
