2026 Preseason ID-Central Iowa: Quick Hits

Waukee, Iowa - On Sunday, May 3rd, Prep Baseball Iowa held its Preseason ID - Central Iowa at the SportsPlex West in Waukee. The event featured over 30 prospects from the class of 2026 through 2029. The event featured many solid performances from the players in attendance. Thank you to the players, parents, coaches and the SportsPlex West staff for such a great event.

Owen Duffek SS / RHP / Lewis Central Senior High School, IA / 2027

Quick, twitchy, versatile 2027 middle infielder/pitcher whose performance has seen significant gains in athleticism, bat speed, exit velocity, and arm strength. His combination of defensive tools, improving offensive metrics, and projectable arm make him a solid follow for college programs.

A tall, projectable right-handed athlete with a lean frame and room to add significant strength. Edgar stands out for his improving arm strength, developing power, and multi-positional athleticism with high upside.

Voss Richardson SS / RHP / Fairfield High School, IA / 2027

Rankings StateRank: 89 / POS: 15

The compact, athletic middle infielder has quick actions and solid strength for his size. Richardson is a high-motor prospect who contributes defensively at shortstop and on the mound with a developing pitch mix.

Tommy Spieker OF / RHP / North Polk High School, IA / 2029

Rankings StateRank: 7 / POS: 2

A projectable right-handed athlete with a lean, high-ceiling frame and significant room to add strength. Spieker is one of Iowa’s top underclassmen in the 2029 class. He stands out for his athleticism, improving power, and two-way upside.
