Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. The Vikings offense was led by Tristan Steger (2027; Kentucky Commit), who went 4-for-4 with a solo home run and three doubles that drove in five RBIs. Ryan Lotus (2027) drove in two RBIs of the contest, including a sacrifice fly. Cory Les (2026; Louisville Commit) and Mickey Lotus (2026; Lewis Commit) each stole two bases and knocked in an RBI. Les hit the RBI single, Lotus with the bases-loaded walk. Samuel Chin (2026; Ball State Commit) pitched a five-inning complete game and struck out five batters.

Pigatto hit the RBI single in the third inning while Bullington hit the go-ahead sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning that proved to be the game winner. Ryan Lawlor (2026; St. Mary's (MN) Commit) had a day though because he hit two singles, scored two runs (one on an error), and stole a base. Ryan Rosas (2026; UW-Platteville Commit) got the win in relief by tossing two innings and retiring five of the six batters via the strikeout. For Lincoln-Way East, Tyler Hudik (2026) drove in two of the three RBIs for the Griffins on his game-tying two-RBI double in the top of the sixth inning.

Jorge Castellon (2026) knocked in a two-RBI single in this contest. Three pitchers combined to throw a four-inning no-hitter. Alex Delaney (2026; Hope Commit) threw the first two innings and struck out a batter. Hunter Smith (2026) dealt the third inning and punched out two of the three batters he faced. Donovan Yoest (2026) closed it out in the fouth inning and only gave up a walk.

On offense, Bennett Kono (2028) and Peter LaFontaine (2026; Milwaukee Area Technical JC Commit) hit back-to-back home runs to get it started for the Ramblers. Then, in the fourth inning, RBI singles came from Barrett Schifferdecker (2028) and Teddy Kurtzweil (2026) as part of a four-run inning. In the bottom of the seventh, Anthony Reavy (2026; Milwaukee School of Engineering Commit) hit the walk-off RBI single to win it for the Ramblers. The Mount Carmel Caravan made an effort to come from behind and win the contest. Their offense came from TJ McQuillan (2026; Wake Forest Commit) with the RBI double and solo blast, Logan Fernandez (2026; Triton JC Commit) the RBI single, and Anthony Chavez (2026; Illinois Commit) with the RBI double. On the pitching side, Jake Matise (2026; Lewis Commit) went five innings and struck out ten batters.
