Rising Stars On The Radar: 2029 SS Ryder Yoder (Malvern Prep)

Nathan Goranson
Northeast Scout

Yoder was a standout performer from the Southeast Session 2 in Palmyra, PA. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound freshman showcased his athleticism, strength and defensive capabilities. Yoder landed at 6th overall in the most recent rankings for PA’s 2029 class.

Offensively, the freshman produced a max exit velocity of 98.1 mph and an average exit velocity of 88.7 mph. Yoder showcased some pull side power at the plate while always maintaining barrel accuracy and repeatability within his swing. His bat works through the zone on more of a flatter path which creates back spin on the baseball. His gather is a slight toe-tap with minimal body movement and an engaged upper half with a moderate scap load.

Defensively, an eye-popping metric of Yoder’s is his 87 mph arm strength in the infield, one of the 2029 classes top infield arm strengths. He utilizes small prep steps while working to the baseball and builds momentum through the baseball to make strong and accurate throws to first base. His 7.07 sixty-yard dash proves to be helpful when he makes plays in the hole showcasing his natural athleticism and speed.

Overall, Yoder is an Eastern PA freshman to follow for years to come. He has power, athleticism, frame, projectability, hit tool and much more.
