Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. The Griffins offense was led by Tyler Hudik (2026), who went 2-for-3 with a walk, double, single, stolen base, a run scored, and four RBIs. Jacob Newman (2026; Lewis Commit) hit an RBI double while Jack Ingram (2026; Cornell Commit) hit an RBI single to knock in an RBI each for this contest. However, it was Rocco Triolo (2027) that played hero ball with a walk-off three-run homer to win it for the Griffins. Bryson Das (2026) took the mound for the first three innings and struck out two without allowing a run. Owen Lense (2026; Quincy Commit) had a nice long relief outing by going 4.1 innings and striking out five while giving up an earned run.

For Libertyville, Braden Tolzien (2026; Heartland CC Commit) and Jack Cenar (2026) got in on the long ball. Cenar hit the two-run shot while Tolzien hit the solo blast. Trevor Wallace (2026; Wilmington Commit) hit an RBI double while Chase Lockwood (2026; Illinois State Commit) hit a two-RBI single.

No. 10 Mount Carmel defeated Loyola Academy by the score of 13-7. The Caravan offense was led by TJ McQuillan (2026; Wake Forest Commit), who walked, got hit by two pitches, stole a base, and hit a a three-run home run. He and Joey Ireland (2026; Illinois Commit) hit back-to-back home runs to complete a nine-run first inning. Logan Fernandez (2026; Triton JC Commit) hit a two-RBI double, Cylis Rainey (2029) the two-RBI single, and Owen Morgan (2027) hit a sacrifice fly and RBI double to knock in his two RBIs of the game.

Logan Rosenthal (2026; Heartland CC Commit) went 1-for-3 with a walk, two-RBI double, two stolen bases, and a run scored. Finn Miller (2027) and Cam Schluter (2026) hit back-to-back RBI singles to give the Spartans the lead in the fifth inning. Miller also stole two bags in this contest. He also pitched the final two innings and struck out three to record the six-out save.
