Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. The Ironmen had eight players collect a hit in the contest, highlighted by two hit performances from Max Heineman (2026; UIC commit) and Jacob Engel (2026). Tyce Beckman (2026; North Central Missouri JC commit) collected a two-RBI single in his only at bat.

No. 4 Lockport defeated No. 14 Lincoln-Way West 4-2 in a Power 25 matchup. Austin Winge (2027) was dominant on the mound for the Porters striking out 12 over a seven inning complete game. Lockport scored three in the first with help from a two-RBI double from Adam Kozak (2026; Lewis commit) and a sac fly from Jack Schiek (2026; Purdue Northwest commit) to bring Kozak home. David Kundrat (2026; Saint Xavier commit) added some insurance in the fourth with an RBI groundout. For the Warriors, Owen Chudzinski (2027) was dominant in relief, throwing three no-hit innings, while striking out six.

No. 7 Huntley beat No. 9 McHenry 5-3 in a tightly contested FVC matchup. The Red Raiders pulled away in the sixth, thanks to an RBI single from Aiden Eickelmann and a two-RBI single from Gavin Rettberg (2026), which proved to be the game winner. Rettberg finished the day 3-for-4 with two RBI and Eickelmann finished with two hits, an RBI, and two runs scored. Travis Dudycha (2026; Heartland CC commit) earned the win out of the pen tossing two scoreless innings. Nathan Neidhardt (2026; HR) and Kaden Wasniewski (2027; LSU commit; 2 H, 2 RBI) led the Warriors offense.

The Indians answered with a run on a double play in the bottom half, but the comeback effort fell short. Aiden Pickles (2026; Rend Lake JC commit) and Braden Walsh (2026; Rend Lake JC commit) each collected two hits for the Wildcats. Brayden Bethel (2028) was sharp on the mound going six innings, allowing one run on two hits, while striking out five.
