Round One

Mt. Pleasant at Melissa

By: Max Semler
North Texas Scouting Director

Cooper Cass | LHP | Melissa | 2027 | Uncommitted
5’11”, 175-pound left-hander with plenty of room to add strength. Pitchability starter. FB 84-88, CB 70-73. Works both sides of the plate with arm-side tail and shows the ability to manipulate the breaking ball. Repeats the delivery and arm action well and competes. Velocity should continue to climb.

Dax Price | OF/LHP | Mt. Pleasant | 2028 | Uncommitted
Athletic with a great build/frame to add strength. Shows range defensively and projects as a well-above-average runner in the future; posted a 4.05 down the line from the left side. Carry to the arm is present with average high school arm strength right now. Aggressive hitter who also shows strike-zone recognition. Impact with the bat should continue to improve as he adds strength. Definite player to watch.

Drew Cross | C | Mt. Pleasant | 2027 | Alabama Commit
Solid build with present strength and room for more. Receiving continues to improve and he shows carry and accuracy on throws. Did not get a throw in-game, but has shown solid pop times in workouts. Aggressive hitter with pull-side power. Catcher with raw arm strength and offensive upside.

Kortland Stovall | LHP | Mt. Pleasant | 2026 | Texas State Commit
Good build/frame with room to add strength. Repeats the delivery and is beginning to show improved feel to pitch. Worked 85-87 with the fastball, mixed in a two-seamer at 82-83 with sink, a 79-80 changeup with feel, and a 73-75 curveball. Strike thrower who projects as a starter at the next level as the velocity continues to trend upward.

BJ Brannon | MIF | Mt. Pleasant | 2027 | Houston Commit
Athletic infielder with present strength. Plus runner who has posted a 6.61 60-yard dash at a past event. Developing actions on the infield with a quick first step. Solid approach at the plate with the ability to leave the yard to the pull side. Plays hard and is a strong get for Houston.

Allen vs. Flower Mound

By: Max Semler
North Texas Scouting Director

Cooper Skinner | MIF | Flower Mound | 2026 | Appalachian State Commit
Good build/frame with room to add strength. Shows defensive actions and infield versatility. Solid hit approach with a hit-over-power profile and a line-drive, middle-of-the-field approach. Plus runner with quickness to the first step.

Chandler Hart | LHP/1B | Allen | 2026 | Texas A&M Commit
Great build/frame at 6’6”, 220 pounds. Did not see him pitch in this look, but he was impressive at the plate. Showed a solid gap-to-gap approach and consistently produced quality contact, finishing 4-for-10 in the series against Flower Mound.

Isaac Palmer | RHP | Allen | 2029 | Uncommitted
Young arm with plenty of room to add strength. Repeats the delivery and arm action well. Around the zone with both the fastball and curveball. Picked up the win in relief and showed the ability to spin the baseball. One to watch develop.

Emerson vs. Frisco Lone Star

By: Max Semler
North Texas Scouting Director

Jayden Alvarado | RHP | Frisco Lone Star | 2027 | Uncommitted
Great build/frame at 6’4”, 200 pounds. Arm works well and there is more arm speed to come. Fastball worked 85-88 and he showed the ability to work both sides of the plate. Slider sat 76-78 with the ability to vary the shape. Plenty of upside with more velocity likely on the way.

Highland Park vs. Frisco Lebanon Trail

By: Max Semler
North Texas Scouting Director

Cole Flashnick | MIF | Highland Park | 2027 | Arkansas Commit
Great build/frame to add strength. Shows defensive actions with average high school arm strength that should continue to improve. Aggressive hitter with developing pull-side power. Continues to trend toward becoming one of the top middle infielders in the 2027 class in DFW.

Magnolia West vs. Cy Woods

By: Kyle Kilgo
South Texas Area Scout

Beckett Steele | SS | Magnolia West | 2026 | Navarro Commit
Athletic build/frame with solid upside. Quality defender at shortstop with the ability to cover a ton of ground. 90 mph arm across the diamond and a plus runner. Physical hitter with the ability to drive in runs. With continued development and approach adjustments, he has a chance to play at an even higher level.

Garrett Bagwell | C | Magnolia West | 2027 | Rice Commit
Went 3-for-3 in Game 1 with 2 RBI and a solo home run. Received and threw well behind the plate, posting 1.93 pop times between innings. Projects as a middle-of-the-order hitter at a premium defensive position. Exciting addition for Rice in the future.

Jude Huff | LHP | Magnolia West | 2028 | Uncommitted
Prototype pitcher’s frame with a tall, lanky build and significant upside. Pounds the zone with three pitches. Fastball sat 89-91 with excellent movement, and the slider flashes plus potential. Some crossfire in the delivery creates a difficult angle to right-handed hitters. Velocity should continue to tick up as he matures physically.

Aiden Haby | OF | Cy Woods | 2027 | Uncommitted
Impact player on both sides of the ball. Covers a ton of ground in center field with quality jumps and reads. Gap-to-gap hitter with present pop. Continued adjustments to an up-the-middle approach should make him even more dangerous offensively. Name to follow this summer.

Jacob Buenrostro | RHP/SS | Cy Woods | 2028 | Uncommitted
Worked 86-87 with the fastball. Easy mover with a quick, athletic arm. Breaking ball sat 72-74 and touched 76 with clean spin. The breaking ball should continue to sharpen as he matures. Interesting young two-way to monitor.

Port Neches-Groves vs. Santa Fe

By: Kyle Kilgo
South Texas Area Scout

Eli Curtis | RHP | Port Neches-Groves | 2026 | Arizona State Commit
First in-person look on the mound and he impressed. Fastball sat 89-91, slider 80-82, and changeup 79-81. Repeats the delivery and filled up the zone with all three pitches. Stuff improved as the outing progressed and he showed confidence in the changeup in cross-count situations. Encouraging to see him healthy and pitching well following Tommy John surgery.

Casen Burnham | OF | Port Neches-Groves | 2026 | Uncommitted
Has flown under the radar due to some minor back issues over the past year. Plus runner (6.6) with physicality and the ability to use all fields. Mature two-strike approach and projects as a player who can help a program at the next level.

Austin Reyna | SS | Santa Fe | 2027 | Uncommitted
Went 2-for-3 with a pair of hits. Shows feel to hit and the ability to spray the ball around the field. Steady defender with smooth actions and a quick release.

Austin Stroud | OF | Santa Fe | 2028 | Uncommitted
Put together quality at-bats and recorded a multi-hit game. Flat path through the zone with quick hands and quiet movements at the plate. Uses an up-the-middle and opposite-field approach. Solid mover with a good frame to continue adding strength.

Quick arm and projectable frame. Tossed 5.2 innings, allowing 4 hits, no earned runs, and one walk while striking out three. Mixed in the slider and changeup effectively. Slider showed short, sharp break when out front. Strike thrower with upside.

Brody Fortunato | SS/RHP | Klein Oak | 2027 | Baylor Commit
Outstanding all-around week. Homered in Game 1, posted a multi-hit game in Game 2, and threw six shutout innings with seven strikeouts in Game 3. Good competitor with a rhythmic stroke and the ability to get the bat head out. Strong defender at shortstop.

Rouse vs. Smithson Valley

By: Ben Green
Texas State Director

Cooper Gibson | INF/RHP | Smithson Valley | 2027 | Uncommitted
Physical left-handed hitter who consistently produces hard contact. Solid approach and doesn’t try to do too much. Likely projects to third base long term, where his size and defensive actions fit well.

Cristian Caro | INF | Rouse | 2026 | Coastal Bend Commit
Impacted the game on both sides in Game 1 of the bi-district round. Drove in two runs with a double after a long at-bat and made two key defensive plays at second base. Winning-type player.

Brody Sharp | C | Rouse | 2028 | Uncommitted
Continues to impress as a sophomore backstop on one of the top 5A teams in the state. Received and blocked well throughout the game and added a hard-hit double to right-center. One of the top catchers in Texas in the 2028 class.

Buda Johnson vs. Laredo United

By: Ben Green

Dominant outing in difficult conditions, tossing five near-perfect innings. The only hit allowed was a swinging bunt. Worked 87-90 and touched 91. Slider sat 77-79 with 2600-2700 RPM. Pitched with intent and showed plenty to like with the frame, arm speed, and pitchability.

Joseph Cardona Jr. | 1B/OF | Buda Johnson | 2027 | Uncommitted
Continues to hit every time we see him. Capitalized on limited opportunities and ripped a double that burned the center fielder. Consistently takes quality at-bats against good arms.

Parker George | OF/RHP | Buda Johnson | 2027 | Uncommitted
Athletic two-way prospect who continues to improve. Moves well, shows a strong arm, and covers ground in center field. Twitchy athlete with upside on both sides of the ball.

China Spring vs. Lampasas

By: Ben Green
Texas State Director

Jacob Lessman | RHP | China Spring | 2027 | Oklahoma State Commit
Got the ball in a must-win Game 2 and delivered six strong innings, striking out eight while allowing just one earned run. Fastball sat 88-90 and touched 91-92 through the middle innings before settling 86-88 late. Quick arm, solid stuff, and the competitiveness expected from a top arm in the class.

Kade Landry | INF/RHP | Lampasas | 2027 | Uncommitted
Started Game 2 and pitched effectively for 7.2 innings. Worked 83-85 with a breaking ball in the low 70s, consistently filling the zone and pitching to contact. Allowed no earned runs and helped himself offensively with an RBI double.
