The 2025 Future Games alum led the way for the Dragons during a challenging four-game stretch, helping power an offense that produced 23 runs against quality competition including two ranked matchups. Squires set the tone early in the week with a perfect 3-3 performance against Russell County, scoring four runs and driving in three. He stayed hot throughout the week, finishing 6-12 (.500) with 6 runs scored and 8 RBI. The 5’10” 201 lb junior added three extra-base hits, including a pair of doubles and a home run, while also stealing two bags and drawing a pair of walks. In addition to his impact at the plate, the uncommitted two-way standout was dominant on the mound, tossing a 7.0 inning complete game one-hitter in a win over Adair County, allowing just two walks while striking out seven. On the season, Squires has been one of the most productive bats in the state, leading the Dragons with a .514 AVG to go along with 38 hits, 36 runs and 35 RBI. He’s added 20 extra-base hits, including 10 doubles and 9 home runs, while also contributing 15 walks and 14 stolen bases. With just a handful of games remaining, Green County will look to build momentum heading into a wide-open 5th Region this postseason. Congratulations to Drew Squires on being named the Prep Baseball KY Player of the Week! |
