Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 1 St. Laurence defeated Loyola Academy by the score of 11-5. The Vikings offense was led by Daniel Coyle (2026; Lewis Commit), who went 3-for-4 with three doubles and four RBIs. Mickey Lotus (2026; Lewis Commit) went 1-for-2 with a single, two walks, a hit by pitch, three stolen bases, two runs scored, and three RBIs. Jacob Hite (2028) and Danny Donovan (2026; UW-Parkside Commit) each knocked in RBI singles in this contest. Jonah Sloane (2028) got the win in relief by throwing three shutout innings. Ryan Wollschlager (2026; Pepperdine Commit) finished it off with two shutout innings and two strikeouts.

#2 Lincoln-Way East 7

H C. Johnson: 2-for-3, 2B, BB, R, RBI

No. 2 Lincoln-Way East came from behind to beat Oswego East by the score of 7-5. Ryan Harris (2028) threw 1.2 innings and picked up the win in relief while Keegan Crabtree (2028) notched the save. Nate Kaminski (2027) hit an RBI triple. Curtiss Crossley (2027) collected an RBI on his groundout while he stole two bases and scored a run. Ryne Pearson (2026) hit an RBI single and scored two runs. Then, in the bottom of the sixth with the score tied at five, Cooper Johnson (2027; Purdue Commit) hit the go-ahead RBI double and Keegan Crabtree followed up with a sacrifice fly.

Recap

No. 3 Normal Community defeated Moline by the score of 7-4. The Ironmen offense was led by Lucas Beaty (2027), who went 3-for-4 with two singles, a two-run home run, and three RBIs. Beckett Weber (2026) went 3-for-3 with a double, two singles, a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Max Heineman (2026; UIC Commit) knocked in an RBI single and stole a base and scored two runs. Kyle Glass (2027) threw the first three innings and punched out three of the five punchouts that the Ironmen recorded in this contest. Lucas Beaty locked down the game and secured the save.

No. 4 Huntley came from behind to defeat York by the score of 8-5. Josh Rudnick (2026; McHenry County JC Commit) closed out the game and got the win by pitching 2.2 innings and striking out two. The game was won when the Red Raiders put up six runs in the sixth inning. John Artinghelli (2028) and Diego Herrera (2026; Parkland Commit) hit back-to-back RBI singles to bring the deficit to two. Then, during an at-bat, Matt Keaty (2026) scored on a wild pitch and Diego Herrera (2026; Parkland Commit) scored on an error to tie the game at five. Later in the inning, Gavin Rettberg (2026) gave the Red Raiders the lead on his bases-loaded walk. Next Batter, Leo Bianchin (2026; Kishwaukee JC Commit), hit a sacrifice fly to push the lead to two. The damage was done on offense in one inning.

No. 6 Brother Rice defeated No. 22 St. Rita by the score of 12-2 in five innings. Luca Agne (2027; Boston College) went 2-for-3 in the game with a double, four RBI and two runs scored. Nolan Ramoley (2026; Kentucky) added two hits, one being a double, with three RBI and one run scored. Colin Campbell (2027; Louisville) went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored, Anthony Cartolano (2027) added a hit with one RBI, two runs scored and two walks, and Brady Cunningham (2027; Texas A&M) added a hit with one RBI, two runs scored and two walks. Joey Escobarete went a perfect 3-for-3 with two run scored. On the mound, Cunningham tossed three innings and tallied seven strikeouts, two walks, and allowed one run and three hits.

No. 7 Mount Carmel defeated Fenwick by the score of 6-4. TJ McQuillan (2026; Wake Forest) went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored. Logan Fernandez (2026; Triton JC) added two hits and one RBI, and Anthony Chavez (2026; Illinois) added two hits and two runs scored. Cullen Winters (2027) also had a strong day, adding two hits and one run scored. For Fenwick, Luca Ponzio (2026) went 2-for-2 with one run scored.

No. 9 Libertyville earned the 7-6 win over Highland Park on a walkoff single from Trevor Wallace (2026; Wilmington College). Wallace finished the game 1-for-3 with one RBI, one run scored and a walk. Weston Wyzukovicz (2028) went 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, one run scored and a walk, and Bode Rohrbach (2026) went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Jack Cenar (2026) added a hit with two runs scored, and Carson Holmes (2026) added a hit with one RBI and two walks. On the mound, Kaden Butt (2027) fired five innings, struck out five, walked three, allowed two runs and five hits.

Landon Clements (2027; Illinois-Chicago commit; 2H, 2B, 3 RBI, 2R), Kaden Wasniewski (2027; Louisiana State commit; 2H, 2B, 4RBI, R), Garet Lobbins (2027; 2H, 2B, RBI, R), Nathan Neidhardt (2026; 2 H, 2 R) and Cam Polerecky (2026; 3H, 2RBI, 3R) led the well rounded attack from the Warriors.

No. 14 Mascoutah earned the 11-10 win over Freeburg, scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, highlighted by an RBI single from David Schulte (2026). Schulte finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored. Nolan Lebert (2026; Oliver Nazarene) led the charge at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, triple, five RBI and two runs scored. Gabe James (2027) went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBI and two runs scored, and Carson Moll (2026; Rend Lake JC) added two hits, one being a double, with one RBI and one run scored. For Freeburg, Dane Johnson (2027) went 2-for-4 with five RBI and one run scored.

Downers Grove South 7

Downers Grove South took down No. 15 Lyons by the score of 7-3. Billy Skweres (2026; Loras) went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the game. Luke Potter (2028) added a hit with one RBI, Aidan Kanazawa (2026; Valparaiso) went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk, and Casey Wierda (2026) added a hit with one RBI and one run scored. Nate Thurston (2028) finished the day 2-for-3 with one run scored. On the mound, Colin Sweeney (2026) tossed one inning in relief, struck out one and walked one.

No. 18 Geneva defeated Batavia by the score of 2-1, scoring both runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn the win. Josh Frieders (2026) line drive single scored the winning run of the game. He finished the day 1-for-4 with one RBI. Noah Hallahan (2027) fired five innings of no-hit ball on the mound, striking out seven, walking one, and allowing one unearned run. Blake Kopec (2026) tossed two perfect innings in relief and struck out five.

Niles Notre Dame defeated No. 20 Nazareth Academy by the score of 6-3 in game 1 of a home/away doubleheader. Nicholas Berndt (2026; Lewis Commit) led the Dons offense by going 2-for-2 with two singles, a sacrifice fly, and three RBIs. Tony Szwedo (2026) hit an RBI triple and drew a walk. Monty Chalabi (2028) drew a bases-loaded walk to knock in his RBI of the game. Kellen Anderson (2026) pitched six strong innings and struck out five batters to earn the win.

Niles Notre Dame defeated No. 20 Nazareth Academy by the score of 6-3 in their first game of the day. Nicholas Berndt (2026; Lewis) went 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBI, and Tony Szwedo (2026) went 1-for-3 with a triple, one RBI, one run scored and a walk. Monty Chalabi (2028) added a hit with one RBI, one run scored and a walk. On the mound, Kellen Anderson (2028) fired six innings with five strikeouts, three walks, one run and three hits allowed. The Dons earned their second win of the day over No. 20 Nazareth Academy by the score of 8-7. Nathan Olivares (2026; Cornell College) tallied a triple in the game with two RBI and one run scored, while Ryan Cisneroz (2026; Millikin) added two hits and one run scored. John Greifelt (2026) went 2-for-3 in the game with two runs scored and a walk, and Noah Collins (2027) added a double with one RBI. On the mound, Owen Bruno (2027) tossed 5.2 innings and struck out eight.

On the mound, Jax Bailey (2028) tossed seven shutout innings with eight strikeouts and three hits allowed. Forrest Rawdin (2027) tossed one inning in relief and struck out one.

Nate Langendorf (2027) collected two hits including a homer, and Mason Leiterman (2029) had a hit and two stolen bases.

Neuqau Valley dominated Crete-Monee 16-0, Christian Lott (2026) picked up his first Wildcat win with a 4 inning no-hitter. He walked the 1st hitter then retired 12 in a row. Lott struck out 7 and also went 2-3 with a double, stolen base, RBI, and three runs scored. The Wildcats had six doubles in the game, one each from Andy Barkley (2026; 1-for-2, BB, 2 R, 3-run 2B), Emmitt Briner (2027; 2-for-3, 2 RBI, SB, 2 R), Danny Mikuta (2028; 1-for-3, HBP, 2 RBI, R), Malachi Sherman (2027; 1-for-1, 2 BB, 2 RBI), and pinch hitter Nick Cimino (2027; 1-for-1, 2B, RBI, R). Kaden Kraemer (2026; 1-for-1, 2 BB, RBI) and Jack Mackey (2028; 1-for-1) each scored twice for Neuqua Valley.

Matthew Griffin (2027) hit a double to take the lead in the top of the eight, finished with two hits and two RBI.

On the day offensively, Alec Harer (2027) want 4-for-7 with two RBI, Jonathan Tschanz (2026; Southwestern Illinois JC) was 4-for-8 with an RBI, Jack Corliss (2026) finished 3-for-6. Lions move to 16-7-1 overall and 7-3 in ESCC play.

R) and Teagan Pals (2027; H, 2RBI) led the way for the offense.
