The 2026 high school baseball season is underway and, as usual, excitement is present throughout Minnesota. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across the North Star State.

Each week we will be releasing our Power Rankings, Scout Blog, Diamond Notes, and Player of The Week, covering all the bases. Today, we look at the scores from our teams in our Power Rankings.

TOP 10 CHECK-IN:

+ No. 1 Mounds View went 2-2 on the week, picking up wins over White Bear Lake and Blaine while dropping a pair to White Bear Lake and Stillwater. RJ Madison (2027, OF, Uncommitted) set the tone offensively, going 6-for-13 (.461) with seven stolen bases, six runs scored, and four RBI. Andrew Gette (2026, RHP, Miami) logged 13 strikeouts over eight innings and went 1-1 on the week. The Mustangs sit at 11-2 with Park and Cretin-Derham Hall on deck.

+ No. 2 Farmington ran through a perfect 5-0 week, stacking wins over Shakopee, Burnsville, Rochester Mayo, Woodbury, and East Ridge. Over the final four games, Matthew Hennen (2027, C, Illinois State) caught fire, going 7-for-12 (.583) with two doubles, 11 runs scored, eight stolen bases, and four RBI. The Tigers continue to build momentum at the top.

+ No. 3 Chaska went 4-1, picking up wins over Jefferson, Wayzata twice, and Delano, with the lone loss coming to Waconia. The top of the order carried much of the load. Owen Strey (2026, SS, Creighton) went 6-for-18 with two home runs, two doubles, six RBI, and six runs scored. Matthew Welter (2026, 1B, Augustana) matched the production, finishing 6-for-16 with two home runs, two doubles, six runs scored, and four RBI. Welter also added five innings on the mound in a win over Jefferson, while Strey struck out six in relief against Delano. Chaska is now 10-2.

+ No. 4 Andover hit a rough patch, dropping both games on the week to Spring Lake Park and Anoka. Carter Daluge (2028, 1B, Uncommitted) continued to produce, going 5-for-7 (.571) with an RBI. The Huskies are now 9-4 with a full slate ahead.

+ No. 5 Shakopee went 3-1, with wins over Apple Valley, No. 10 Rosemount, and New Prague, and a loss to No. 2 Farmington. Colton Jenks (2026, 1B, Uncommitted) stayed productive, going 4-for-12 with a double, triple, and home run while driving in five. The Sabers move to 11-2.

+ No. 6 Minnetonka also posted a 3-1 week, defeating Hopkins, Grand Rapids, and Totino-Grace while falling to Edina. Carter Storts (2026, OF, Augustana) led the offense, going 7-for-14 (.500) with a double, nine runs scored, and two RBI. The Skippers are now 9-4.

+ No. 7 Mahtomedi went 2-0, picking up wins over North St. Paul and No. 8 Two Rivers. Peyton Whitbeck (2026, C, Concordia-Moorhead) delivered the biggest swing of the week, walking off Two Rivers with a two-run home run and finishing with four RBI. The Zephyrs sit at 10-1 with a busy week ahead, including facing Delano at Baseball Day Minnesota.

+ No. 8 Two Rivers split the week, falling in a tight one to Mahtomedi and defeating North St. Paul. Cole Altavilla (2026, OF, Uncommitted) went 3-for-6 with five runs scored, three RBI, and three stolen bases. The Warriors are now 8-2.

+ No. 9 Woodbury went 3-2, earning wins over East Ridge, Roseville, and Rochester Mayo while dropping games to East Ridge and Farmington. Kai Larsen (2026, IF, UW-La Crosse) led the way, going 6-for-15 (.400) with a double, a triple, and four runs scored. The Royals move to 11-4.

+ No. 10 Rosemount finished 2-1, beating Apple Valley and Burnsville and falling to Shakopee. Jacob Michel (2027, IF, Oregon) put together a standout week, going 5-for-7 (.571) with a double, a home run, five RBI, and four runs scored. The Irish are now 9-3.
