Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 1 St. Laurence routed St. Rita to a lobsided victory of 19-2. The Vikings offense was led by three hitters. Orlando Vazquez (2026) went 2-for-3 with a two-RBI double, RBI single, and two runs scored. Tristan Steger (2027; Kentucky Commit) hit a three-run home run and drew a walk. Mickey Lotus (2026; Lewis Commit) knocked in three RBIs on his two-RBI single and RBI groundout, while drawing a walk and scoring a run. Ryan Lotus (2027) went 2-for-2 with a walk, a pair of RBI doubles, and two runs scored. Dave Campbell was another key player that got in on the long ball with a two-run shot. Danny Donovan (2026; UW-Parkside Commit) went 2-for-2 with a triple, RBI single, two walks, two stolen bases, and four runs scored. Louisville commit Cory Les chipped in with two hits and an RBI. On the pitching side, John Strzechowski (2026; Lake Land JC Commit) got the job done by pitching a four-inning complete game and earning the win.

No. 2 Lincoln-Way East shutout Stagg by the score of 10-0. The Griffins offense was led by Rocco Triolo (2027), who went 2-for-3 with a double, three-run homer, a walk, and two runs scored. Cooper Johnson (2027; Purdue Commit) went 3-for-4 with a double, two singles, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Matt Ritter (2028) went 2-for-4 with a double, single, a run scored, and two RBIs. Bryson Das (2026) threw three shutout innings and struck out two. Owen Lense (2026; Quincy Commit) threw two hitless innings and struck out three while only giving up a walk.

No. 4 Lockport defeated Bradley-Bourbonnais by the score of 6-4. The Porters won the game by putting up a crooked number in the fifth inning. Kaden O'Leary (2027), Drew Satunas (2026; Grand Valley State Commit), and Adam Kozak (2026; Lewis Commit) all hut RBI singles in the inning. Jack Schiek (2026; Purdue-NW Commit) hit the two-RBI double to top off a five-run inning. Emmett O'Keefe (2027) tossed the first four innings and recorded six punchouts.

No. 5 Brother Rice defeated Providence Catholic by the score of 12-2. Luca Agne (2027; Boston College Commit) led the Crusaders offense by going 2-for-4 with a two-RBI double, RBI single, two stolen bases, and two runs scored. Brady Cunningham (2027; Texas A&M Commit) went 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, a pair of walks, a stolen base, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Gavin Stanislawski (2027) went 1-for-4 with an RBI triple, a run scored, and two RBIs. Colin Campbell (2027; Louisville Commit) and Joey Escobarete (2027) both knocked in RBI singles in this contest. Aidan Dillon (2027) went three innings and struck out three batters while Austin Mrskos (2026) recorded three shutout innings in relief.

No. 7 Huntley defeated Central by the score of 13-6. This includes a ten-spot put up by the Red Raiders offense in the second inning. Diego Herrera (2026; Parkland Commit) and Leo Bianchin (2026; Kishwaukee JC Commit) both hit three singles and knocked in three RBIs. RBI singles also came from Aiden Kickelmann and Tommy Gasner (2028). Gavin Rettberg (2026) hit an RBI double as part of the big second inning. Nate Larson (2027) got the win in relief by dealing three innings and striking out four batters.

H W. Wyzukovicz: 1-for-2, HR, BB, 2 R, 2 RBI
Recap

No. 8 Libertyville shutout Zion-Benton by the score of 7-0. Mathew Hara (2027) and Weston Wyzukovicz (2028) both led the Wildcats offense with two RBIs. Hara hit the two-run double while Wyzukovicz hit the two-run home run. Bode Rohrbach (2026) was another key player that went 2-for-4 with two singles, two stolen bases, a run scored, and an RBI. The Wildcats pitching staff combined to throw a one-hit shutout. Aksel McKnight (2027) tossed four hitless innings and struck out four. Nico Harper (2026; Olivet Nazarene Commit) went three shutout innings and struck out six while only giving up a hit and a walk.

No. 10 Chicago Mt. Carmel defeated DePaul College Prep 8-1. Brady Holland (2026) had a big day at the plate going 2-for-3 with a HR, 3B, and three RBI. Anthony Chavez (2026; Illinois commit) and Pancho Vazquez (2026) each recorded two hits including a double. Connor Elenteny (2026; Notre Dame commit) was dominant on the mound tossing all seven innings, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out eight.

No. 15 Lemont cruised by Oak Lawn 18-2 behind a dominant offensive performance. Six players recorded multiple hits, highlighted by big performances from Michael Kalkowski (2027; 2-for-2, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 4 R) and Cannon Madej (2026; Southwestern Illinois JC commit; 2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R). Madej also got the start on the mound and struck out five over two innings. Nathan Zdenovec (2028) went the last three innings, also striking out five.

No. 17 Marquette shutout Putnam County 8-0 to improve to 22-1 on the season. Alec Novotney (2026; Valparaiso commit) set the tone on the mound going 4.1 innings, allowing no hits and one walk, while striking out nine. Novotney also collected two hits and an RBI for the Crusaders. Caden Durdan (2027) turned in a solid performance at the plate collecting two hits including a 2B and two RBI. Grant Dose (2026; Morton JC commit) and Easton Debernardi (2027) each collected two hits as well.

#18 Lyons 13

H B. Koren: 2-for-2, 2B, HBP, SB, 2 R, 2 RBI

No. 18 Lyons routed Proviso West to a 13-0 victory. Three hitters led the Lions offense with two RBIs each. Brady Koren (2027) went 2-for-2 with a single, two-RBI double, hit by pitch, stolen base, and two runs scored. Tommy Georgelos (2026; Eastern Illinois Commit) went 2-for-2 with an RBI single, RBI triple, a walk, and two runs scored. Nathan Fitzgerald (2027) drew two hit by pitches to knock in his two RBIs. Aidan Webster (2027) was another key player that went 2-for-3 with a single, RBI double, and three runs scored. More importantly, Jack Slightom (2026; Cincinnati Commit) pitched a five-inning no hitter and struck out 13 of the 16 batters he faced. He struck out the side in the first, third, and fifth innings.

No. 19 Minooka defeated Oswego by the score of 8-1 in game 2 of a home/away doubleheader. The Indians offense was led by Jason Duy (2026; Aurora Commit), who went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-RBI single. Gavin McReynolds (2026; UW-Stout Commit) went 1-for-3 with an RBI bunt single, a hit by pitch, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Howie Porath (2027) knocked in an RBI single and stole a base, which led to a run scored. Joey Rutz (2027) also knocked in an RBI single and scored a run. Cam Rujawitz (2026; Parkland Commit) pitched a complete game and struck out eight batters in his outing.

Oswego 4

Oswego took down No. 19 Minooka 4-2 in game 1 of a home/away doubleheader. Hunter Amelio led the Panthers offense by going 3-for-4 with three singles, a stolen base, and two RBIs. Luke Hernandez (2027) hit a solo home run in today's contest. Kevin Camacho (2027) had a nice relief outing by going four innings and striking out four batters. For Minooka, Zane Caves (2026; Michigan State Commit) had a strong outing by going four innings and eight strikeouts.

Benet Academy took down No. 25 Nazareth Academy 6-3. Nicky Kohlmeyer (2028) came up huge out of the bullpen going five innings allowing no runs on two hits, while striking out four to earn the win. Ben Clevenger (2026; 2 H, 2 RBI, R, SB), Peter Pignatiello (2028; 2 H, RBI, 2 R) and Matt Leonard (2027; 2B, RBI) led the way for the Redwings offense. Landon Thome (2026; Florida State) tripled and Kamran Alikhan (2026; John A. Logan commit) collected two hits for the Roadrunners.

Wilmington took down Peotone 14-1. Ryan Kettman threw five innings with just four hits allowed, one run, two walks and seven strikeouts. He also was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with three doubles and five RBIs.

Willowbrook captured its 20th consecutive victory with a 12-2 win over Proviso East. CF Jake Bonino (2026; South Suburban) was 2-for-2 with a double, triple, three runs and a stolen base. 2B Ben Swanson (2027) had a 2-run double and SS Jory Crocker (2026; Arizona) was 2-for-3 with a double in support of RHP Bobby Biggs (2026; Wartburg), who earned the win for the Warriors (21-4).

Bartlett took down Elgin 10-1. Joe Kennedy (2026; CUC commit) threw seven innings with just three hits allowed, striking out 10. Josh Colaizzi (2026; McHenry County commit) was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Sam Robles was a perfect 2-for-2.

Romeoville 13

Romeoville took down Joliet Central 13-3. Jack Mulheron earned the win on the mound with 4.1 innings, one earned run and three strikeouts - Mulheron also collecting two hits with a double and three RBIs. Aiden Hernandez added 1.2 innings of relief with no hits, striking out one. Ashton Martinez was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Freddie Casas had two hits and two RBIs - while Adam Skibinski added a hit and two RBIs.

Rolling Meadows 10

Recap

Rolling Meadows took down Wheeling 10-1. Luke Schneider threw six innings with one run, one walk and six strikeouts - also going 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and an RBI. Jack O'Callaghan was 2-for-3 with a home run, double and four RBIs. Tony Romanacce was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Josh Rappa also was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Maine East 9

Recap

Maine East took down Maine West 9-4. Sargon Rodgers (2028) earned the win on the mound with 4.2 innings, striking out seven. Senior catcher Jackson Slamowitz had four hits, two of which being doubles.

Recap

Herscher took down Lisle 15-5. Cooper Meredith was 3-for-4 with three RBIs to power the offense as the Tigers improve to 20-7 on the year.

Grayslake Central 9

Recap

Grayslake Central took down Grant Community 9-6. Carson Woods had a pair of hits and four RBIs as the host Rams scored in four of six innings in winning their 18th game on the season. Soren Hansen and Jonathan Malloy both had a pair of hits as well. Milwaukee Area Tech College commit TJ Rodriguez tossed four innings to pick up the win

Alleman took down Ridgewood 5-4 on a walk-off from freshman Everett Smith. Kelly Honert (2027) improved to 3-0 with the one inning appearance, not allowing a hit or run and striking out one. Truman Marner (2027) also threw the ball well, going four innings with two runs and three strikeouts - going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, two RBIs and a run scored - also stealing two bases.

In the Titans' 4-2 win over the Trevians, Cam Lewis (‘26) went 4.2 innings in the start giving up only two runs on two hits with seven strikeouts and four walks. Connor Fallon (‘27) threw 1.2 shutout relief innings allowing a hit and struck out two. Jack Stefani (‘26) closed the game with two strikeouts. James Dooman (‘26) went 3-for-4 with a triple and a run for the Titans. Sam Christos (‘27) added an RBI single and Clancy Rogers (‘26) hit his sixth home run of the year.

Oak Park-River Forest took down Hinsdale Central 10-8. Zach Goldberg was a perfect 4-for-4 with a home run, double, five RBIs and three runs scored. Ian Moore was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, a walk and a stolen base. Brandon Beasley was 2-for-4 with a triple, double, two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Julian Garcia-Bariel was 1-for-2 with three runs scored. Griffin Arnold earned the win with five innings of work, allowing just one earned run with four hits and two strikeouts. Owyn Edwards notched the save with 1.1 innings of work, allowing one hit, one walk and striking out one.

Barrington rolled Palatine 13-5 for their fourth straight win. Will Steffens (2028) stole the show going 3-for-3 with two HRs, five RBI, and three runs scored. Drew Whitney (2028; 2-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, R) and Quinn Blue (2026; 3-for-4, 3 R) also had big days at the plate for the Broncos. Owen Hong (2027; 3-for-3, HR, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R, BB) had a huge day for the Pirates.

Camp Point Central defeated Canton by the score of 5-1. Luke Ippensen knocked in the Panthers only RBI of the game on his RBI single. Jace Howe and Grant Hamilton both reached on error to knock in runs. Hamilton also stole home. Howe scored on a passed. All that came in a five-run second inning that the Panthers put up in this contest. Collin Likes (2027) dominated on the mound by dealing six innings and 11 strikeouts to earn the win.

Central took down Richmond-Burton 5-4 in extra innings. Ashton Binz (2028; 4.2 IP, H, 2 R, 2 BB, 7 K) and Jonathan Andrinopoulos (2027; 4.1 IP, 3H, 2 R, 2 BB, 5 K) combined to go all nine innings. Dominic Henderson (2027) and Daniel Koertgen (2027) each collected two hits for the Rockets.

Abingdon/Avon 2

Abingdon/Avon shut out Cuba/Spoon River Valley by the score of 2-0. Lucas Andrews played small ball and knocked in both RBIs of the game on his fielder's choice. Kolbe Hightower started the game and threw four hitless frames and struck out four to earn the win. Lucas Andrews threw the final three innings and struck out three to record the nine-out save.

Crystal Lake Central defeated Woodstock 8-2. Bud Shanahan (2027) tossed a complete game with six strikeouts, while also going 3-for-3 at the plate with a HR, three RBI, and three runs scored. Wade Ozment (2027; Illinois commit) was 2-for-4 with a 2B and an RBI.

Recap

Lake Zurich had a dramatic come-from-behind victory to beat Mundelein 10-9. The Bears were trailing 9-4 entering the bottom half of the seventh inning. Carson Hamblin (2027) began the rally with a bases-loaded walk. Blake Zabel (2026) followed up with a two-RBI single to decrease the deficit to two. Two batters later, Alex Toth (2027) hit the game-tying two RBI single to make it 9-9. Then, with the winning run 90 feet away, Cooper Kaczmarek (2027) hit the walk-off RBI single to seal it for the Bears.

Joliet Catholic 4

Recap

Joliet Catholic took down Marist 4-3. The RedHawks got solid pitching from Rocco Szambelan (2026; Butler commit; 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 7 K) and Koen Lynes (2027; 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K). Lynes also collected a hit and an RBI in the contest.
