Updated Illinois Power 25 Rankings

We are updating the Power 25 after another full week of games, and there was definitely some shifting throughout, with three new teams making their way onto the list after strong seasons up to this point.
There was a small shakeup within our top five; with No. 2 Normal Community (24-2) flipping spots with No. 3 Lincoln-Way East (24-3), while St. Laurence (28-1) remains at No. 1, with No. 4 Lockport (20-7) and No. 5 Brother Rice (21-8) continuing to round out the top five.
Rising
+ No. 10 Triad (22-5): The Knights continue to look like one of the top teams in the state’s 3A classification, going 4-0 last week combining to allow just two runs on the mound. They notched a Power 25 victory over then No. 23 O’Fallon 3-1.
+ No. 12 Lemont (22-3): Lemont has begun to hit their stride as a team over the past few weeks, winning 15 of their last 16 games including a big Power 25 victory this past week over No. 20 Lincoln-Way West 10-3.
+ No. 13 Geneva (24-3): The Vikings had another big week, going 4-0 with wins over conference foes Batavia (11-5), and Glenbard North (11-5, 15-0, and 4-2).
+ No. 17 Normal University (23-3): The Pioneers put together a strong all-around week, going 3-0 with two shutout victories including a 4-0 win over then No. 24 Glenwood.
Falling
+ No. 14 St. Joseph-Ogden (26-2): The Spartans fell three spots in this update after going 4-1 with wins over Milford (8-3), Prairie Central (10-0), Reed-Custer (12-2), and Galesburg (8-4), while falling to Tolono Unity 5-2.
+ No. 15 Mascoutah (22-3): The Indians fall a few spots after a 2-1 week that included wins over Civic Memorial (11-3 & 3-0), and a 3-2 loss to Marion. They’ll take on No. 10 Triad twice this week while also having games scheduled against Mater Dei and Columbia this week.
+ No. 20 Lincoln-Way West (18-6): The Warriors fell six spots after a 2-2 week that saw them fall to a pair of Power 25 teams; losing to then No. Lockport 4-2 and No. 15 Lemont 10-3. They notched victories against Andrew 5-2 & 12-2.
New to the Power 25
+ No. 21 Tremont (24-2): The Turks enter the Power 25 for the first time this spring, after winning 16 of their last 17 games. Last week, they went 2-0 while defeating Deer Creek-Mackinaw 6-1 and Illini Bluffs 8-1.
+ No. 24 Willowbrook (23-4): The Warriors enter the week at No. 24 after another undefeated week, going 4-0 with wins over Proviso East (10-1, 12-2, and 19-1) and Downers Grove North (10-6). They will have a Power 25 matchup later this week against No. 18 Lyons Township.
+ No. 25 Newman Central Catholic (21-1): The Comets enter the Power 25 for the first time this spring, having just one loss thus far amidst a 15-game win streak. They notched a 3-0 week last week, defeating Kewanee 12-4 & 17-1, and Princeton 9-1.
