The 2026 high school baseball season is underway and, as usual, excitement is present throughout Minnesota. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across the North Star State.

Each week we will be releasing our Power Rankings, Scout Blog, Diamond Notes, and Player of The Week, covering all the bases. Today, we look at the scores from our teams in our Power Rankings.

NOTES:
+ No. 1 Farmington keeps steamrolling opponents, run-ruling Eastview 11-0 for its fourth mercy-rule win in the last five games. The Tigers got production throughout the lineup. Brodie Gibart (2026, LHP/OF, Augustana) scored three runs, while Ethan Hagman (2026, RHP/IF, New Mexico State) and Grady Renwick (2026, 1B, Southwest Minnesota State) each doubled. Cooper Fernelius (2026, RHP, DCTC) handled the mound work, going 4.2 scoreless innings on two hits with seven strikeouts. Farmington improves to 16-1.
+ No. 2 Mounds View continued its strong stretch with a 7-4 win over Cretin-Derham Hall. Cooper Caligiuri (2026, C, Uncommitted) went 2-for-4 with a home run, while Jack Glancey (2026, OF, UW-La Crosse) also left the yard and finished with three RBI. Sawyer Shewmake (2028, LHP, Uncommitted) earned the win after striking out six over five innings. The Mustangs move to 12-3.

+ No. 4 Shakopee pushed its winning streak to four games with a 19-1 rout of Burnsville. Logan Krosch (2026, SS, St. John’s) and Colton Jenks (2026, IF, Uncommitted) led the offensive explosion. Krosch went 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBI, and three runs scored, while Jenks finished 2-for-2 with two doubles, three RBI, and three runs scored. The Sabers are now 13-2.
+ No. 5 Mahtomedi leaned on a dominant outing from Connor Finn (2026, LHP, Texas Tech) in a 3-0 win over Simley. Finn tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out 17 of the 25 batters he faced. He also added a solo home run at the plate. Cody Loida (2026, IF, Sioux Falls) chipped in with a homer of his own as the Zephyrs improved to 11-2.
+ No. 6 Minnetonka picked up a 6-2 win over Buffalo behind contributions from throughout the lineup. Jacob Musgjerd (2026, IF, Concordia-St. Paul) homered, while Cruz Winegarden (2027, C, Uncommitted) went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI, and two runs scored. Jonah Ludens (2026, LHP, Kirkwood) earned the win with four innings of two-run ball and six strikeouts. The Skippers are now 11-4.
+ No. 9 Rosemount could not recover from a rough middle stretch in a 6-3 loss to Eagan. Jacob Michel (2027, IF, Oregon) doubled in the seventh to bring the tying run to the plate, but the Irish could not complete the comeback. Rosemount falls to 10-4.
+ No. 10 Orono extended its winning streak to eight games with a 4-1 win over Totino-Grace. Easton Ahrens (2026, C, Chandler-Gilbert CC) went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored, while Chaz Brookins (2026, RHP/IF, Gustavus) added two hits and tossed four innings of one-run ball. The Spartans are now 11-1.
