NOTABLE RECAPS FROM WEDNESDAY

#5 American Fork (15) vs. #15 Skyridge (8)

The American Fork Cavemen unleashed a relentless offensive assault to outlast the Skyridge Falcons in a high-scoring 15–8 slugfest that saw the two teams combine for a staggering 29 hits. The Cavemen took control early and never let up, powered by a massive performance from Bode Gaggero, who finished the game with a grand slam and five RBIs. Bentley Taggart was equally dangerous at the plate, lacing two doubles and driving in four runs to keep the pressure on the Skyridge staff. While the Falcons showed plenty of heart behind a perfect 3-for-3 afternoon from Miles Robinson—who launched a home run of his own—they simply couldn't find an answer for American Fork's depth. Brecken Jensen earned the win in relief, while Talon Willardson provided the necessary stability on the mound late to secure the dominant victory and win the Region 3 title.

Top Performers

#10 Lone Peak (5) vs. #20 Jordan (0)

The Lone Peak Knights put on a dominant display of pitching and timely hitting to cruise to a 5–0 shutout win over the Jordan Beetdiggers. Landon Fry was the story of the afternoon on the mound, keeping the Jordan bats completely off-balance through six scoreless innings while racking up six strikeouts. The Knights' offense backed up their starter early, led by Kingston Stroshine, who turned in a three-hit game including a double to keep the pressure on. Bo Barnes provided the heavy lifting in the RBI department with two runs driven in, and Crew Nelson added a multi-hit effort of his own to help seal the victory. Jordan’s Kade Carter was a workhorse in a losing effort, tossing 6 strong innings, but the Beetdiggers couldn't overcome their defensive miscues and a lack of consistent offense in the shutout loss.

Top Performers

Woods Cross (13) vs. Olympus (3)

The Woods Cross Wildcats essentially turned their matchup with Olympus into a track meet, putting the game away early in a decisive 13–3 victory. The Wildcats’ offense was relentless, feasting on the Titans' pitching staff for 11 hits and 12 RBIs in just five innings of play. Jesse Simmons put an exclamation point on the dominant performance with a home run, while Tyson Devore and Paxton Healy combined to punish the gaps and keep the scoreboard moving throughout the afternoon. Olympus found a brief spark when Jaxon Vandenakker launched a home run of his own, but it wasn't nearly enough to keep pace with a Woods Cross lineup that seemed to have a runner in scoring position every inning. Josef Portlock stayed composed on the hill, tossing a complete five-inning game to secure the win and cap off a total team effort.

Top Performers

#8 Mountain Ridge (10) vs. Cedar Valley (2)

Mountain Ridge put an exclamation point on a historic regular season, dismantling Cedar Valley 10–2 to clinch the Region 2 championship for the first time in the program's history. The Sentinels' offense was firing on all cylinders, racking up 13 hits while their pitching duo of Schafer Dixon and Kruz Anderson combined to surrender just four hits all afternoon to stifle the Aviators' attack. Ryker Morton served as the offensive catalyst, crossing the plate four times, while Karson Fankhauser and Carter Bell peppered the field with three hits apiece to keep the pressure relentless. While Cedar Valley found a few bright spots in a multi-hit game from Landon Johnson and a run-scoring double by Ruger Powell, they simply couldn't slow down a Mountain Ridge squad that looked every bit like a 6A title contender as they hoisted their first-ever region trophy.
