Junior RHP Josh Wright (Uncommitted) has been unhittable over his last two starts for Fall Creek, tossing his second no-hitter this week. In his start against Loyal, the right-hander threw a second no-hitter, leading the charge on the mound for the Crickets en route to a 2-0 victory. An electric arm leads this rotation, also providing a spark as the everyday leadoff man. For this reason, the right-hander has been named this week’s pitcher of the week.

Wright tossed seven innings, allowing zero hits, zero runs, and one walk, while striking out 14. After starting the game with a lead-off walk, the right-hander dialed in, only allowing a single base runner on an error. Wright would also help himself out in the leadoff spot with a double, going 1-for-4.

In his last two starts, the 6-foot-1, 165-pound right-hander has tossed 12 innings, allowing zero hits, zero runs, and two walks, all while collecting 22 strikeouts. His season ERA now sits at 0.90. Despite every time he touches the mound it’s a show, Wright has also been producing with the bat all season long. The left-handed bat is hitting .491 with a .630 OBP, a stable presence at the leadoff spot for the crickets.

We're thankful for the POTW submissions we received from the coaches across the state. The players who garnered POTW consideration will earn a place within tomorrow's Diamond Notes story, so be on the lookout for that.
