Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 2 Normal Community shutout East Peoria by the score of 9-0. The Ironmen offense was led by Max Heineman (2026; UIC Commit), who went 4-for-4 with three singles, a double, and three RBIs. Chase Hendren (2026) knocked in two RBIs on his two-run single. More importantly, Josh Jones (2026; Indiana State Commit) and Landyn Corbin (2026; Augustana Commit) combined to toss a no-hitter on the mound. Jones threw five innings and struck out eight while giving up a pair of walks. Corbin threw the final two frames and struck out two hitters to finish it off.

At the plate, Brady Kozlowski (2026; Findlay) went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored, and Gavin McReynolds (2026; Wisconsin-Stout) went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored. Joey Rutz (2027) also had a strong day offensively, going 3-for-4 with a home run, five RBI and two runs scored. For Lockport, Tommy Miller (2027) threw two innings in relief, struck out five and allowed five hits and three unearned runs.

C Alex Rodriguez (2027) keyed a 4-run first inning with a line drive to left field to plate two runners and finished the game 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs as Willowbrook defeated Lyons Township 10-4 in a West Suburban crossover meeting. RHP Mikey Garner (2027) held the Lions (20-9) at bay as he scattered two hits and two walks over four innings to earn the win. Garner allowed two runs, both earned, and struck out six, punching out the final four batters he faced. 3B Ben Swanson (2027) was 1-for-2 with three runs scored and SS Jory Crocker (2026; Arizona) was 1-for-3 with two RBI, a run and a stolen base. The victory was the 26th consecutive for the Warriors, improving them to 27-4. The 27 wins are a school record in what is the final season for retiring coach Vic Wisner.
