Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 2 Normal Community shutout East Peoria by the score of 9-0. The Ironmen offense was led by Max Heineman (2026; UIC Commit), who went 4-for-4 with three singles, a double, and three RBIs. Chase Hendren (2026) knocked in two RBIs on his two-run single. More importantly, Josh Jones (2026; Indiana State Commit) and Landyn Corbin (2026; Augustana Commit) combined to toss a no-hitter on the mound. Jones threw five innings and struck out eight while giving up a pair of walks. Corbin threw the final two frames and struck out two hitters to finish it off.

H J. Rutz: 3-for-4, HR, 5 RBI, 2 R

No. 19 Minooka defeated No. 4 Lockport by the score of 14-4. Zane Caves (2026; Michigan State) threw six innings on the mound, struck out five, walked one, allowed two runs and three hits. At the plate, Brady Kozlowski (2026; Findlay) went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored, and Gavin McReynolds (2026; Wisconsin-Stout) went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored. Joey Rutz (2027) also had a strong day offensively, going 3-for-4 with a home run, five RBI and two runs scored. For Lockport, Tommy Miller (2027) threw two innings in relief, struck out five and allowed five hits and three unearned runs.

Whitney Young defeated No. 6 Lane Tech by the score of 7-5. Arnie Rosenbrand (3B, 2 R, BB), Theo Kimmeth (RBI, R, BB), and Isaac Stoelinga (R) each went 2-for-4 in the game. Marcus Garton (2026) went 1-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and one run scored. For Lane Tech, Paris Head (2029) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and Alex Zeigler (2026; Grinnell) went 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored.

Braden Tolzien (2026; Heartland CC) went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, two RBI and two runs scored, and Brayden Ways (2026) added two hits, two RBI and one run scored. Madden Cotts (2027; Bradley) added a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk, and Reid Williams (2027) doubled and drove in three runs. Trevor Wallace (2026; Wilmington College) doubled and drove in two.

At the plate, Joey Ireland (2026; Illinois) went a perfect 4-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored. TJ McQuillan (2026; Wake Forest) went 3-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored, and Anthony Chavez (2026; Illinois) added a hit with one RBI. Jonathan Osornio (2026; Cowley JC), Luke Barron (2026), and Will Walsh (2026) each doubled in the game.

On the mound, Cannon Madej (2026; Southwestern Illinois JC) threw 7.1 innings on the mound and earned the win, striking out 13, walking two, allowing no runs and one hit. At the plate, Luke Marusarz (2027) went 1-for-2 with two RBI and two walks. Madej added two hits at the plate with one RBI, and Zane Schneider (2027) added two hits and one runs scored.

Alex Abraham (2027) went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI, Nelson Wendell added a hit and one run scored, and Aidan Hall (2026) tallied two hits in the game. On the mound, Blake Kopec (2026) threw five innings on the mound and earned the win, striking out nine, walking four, allowing no runs and three hits. Tommy Lyons (2026) fired two innings in relief, struck out two, walked two and allowed one hit.

On the mound, Dalton York threw five innings on the mound and earned the win, striking out nine, walking five, allowing no runs and on hit. Miller threw two perfect innings in relief and struck out four.

No. 16 Marquette defeated St. Bede by the score of 13-3 in five innings. Griffin Dobberstein (2027) went 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run, double, three RBI, three runs scored and a walk. Grant Dose (2026; Morton JC) added a home run, four RBI and one run scored, and Alec Novotney (2026; Valparaiso) went 1-for-3 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored. As a team, the Crusaders tallied eight hits, drove in 13 runs, and walked five times. On the mound, Michael Johnson (2028) threw two innings in relief, struck out two and walked one.

C Alex Rodriguez (2027) keyed a 4-run first inning with a line drive to left field to plate two runners and finished the game 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs as Willowbrook defeated Lyons Township 10-4 in a West Suburban crossover meeting. RHP Mikey Garner (2027) held the Lions (20-9) at bay as he scattered two hits and two walks over four innings to earn the win. Garner allowed two runs, both earned, and struck out six, punching out the final four batters he faced. 3B Ben Swanson (2027) was 1-for-2 with three runs scored and SS Jory Crocker (2026; Arizona) was 1-for-3 with two RBI, a run and a stolen base. The victory was the 26th consecutive for the Warriors, improving them to 27-4. The 27 wins are a school record in what is the final season for retiring coach Vic Wisner.

No. 21 Tremont defeated Lexington by the score of 9-5. Josh Papenhause (2026) went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Griffin Meeker (2026; Heartland CC) went 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored, and Chase Rhodes (2026; John A Logan) went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI and one run scored. On the mound, Rhodes threw two innings, struck our four, walked one, allowed two runs and two hits. Meeker tossed 1.2 innings in relief and earned the win, striking out two, walking two and allowing one hit.

Connor McKay (2026; Northern Illinois) earned the win, punching out five over four innings, while Christian Drye (2028) notched the save, scattering one hit over three innings of work. On offense, Landon Thome (2026, Florida State; 1-for-2, HR, RBI, 2 BB, SB, 3 R), Gavin Hartigan (2028; 1-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI), Kam Alikhan (2026, John A Logan; 2-for-4), and Sean Stolfi (2-for-2) led the way in the win.

Nazareth Academy swept St. Patrick in their second game of the day, winning by a score of 7-5. Eddie Donnelly (2027) earned the win, tossing four innings, allowing four hits, and pucnhing out three. Hector Valdez (2029) notched the save, tossing a third of an inning. For the Roadrunner offense, Landon Thome (2026, Florida State; 2-for-3, HR, RBI), Gavin Hartigan (2028; 2-for-2, 2B, 3 RBI), and Marco Fiore (2028; 3-for-3) all had big days en route to the win.

Harlem 10

Recap

Harlem defeated Stagg 10-4. Finn Stovall (2026; Rock Valley JC) went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and notched his 9th homer of the year in the win.

Bartlett 7

Recap

Bartlett took down St. Francis 7-1. Vince Yario (2026; Harper JC) tossed two hitless innings with three punchouts, while also going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Josh Colaizzi (2026; McHenry County CC) went 2-for-3 with three RBI, and Mason Leiterman (2029) went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the win.

Hinsdale Central 13

Recap

Hinsdale Central shutout Proviso East 13-0 to improve to 19-10 and are now tied for first place in the WSC Silver. Wes Novatney (2026) went 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, an RBI, three runs scored, and two stolen bases.

Maine South 8
Barrington 4
Recap

Maine South defeated Barrington by the score of 8-4. The Hawks scored all eight runs in the fourth inning. Joaquin Fabragas began the scoring with his RBI single and then ended it with a bases-loaded walk. Braden Cremins and Jack Croon (2026; Concordia Commit) both knocked in a two-RBI single. Sean Sladky (2027) and Gavin Krischke drew bases-loaded walks. Jack Gianikos took the mound and tossed four innings and struck out eight hitters to earn the win. Henry Murphy (2028) came in relief and finished the last three innings without allowing a hit and recording a punchout, as he recorded the nine-out save.
