Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 6 Lane Tech defeated Von Steuben by the score of 3-0. The Champions got the scoring started early in the first inning when Alex Zeigler (2026; Grinnell Commit) and Conor Sullivan (2026) hit back-to-back RBI singles. Later, Matt Young (2026; UW-Whitewater Commit) extended the deficit by hitting an RBI double. Charles Lust (2027) and Ronan Owens (2026; UMass Commit) combined for a three-hit shutout. Lust threw five innings and struck out eight batters to earn to the win while Owens recorded the six-out save and struck out four of the eight batters he faced.

No. 12 Lemont defeated Reavis 9-2. Grady Garofalo (2026, South Suburban CC; 2-for-5, 2 R), Cannon Madej (2026, SWIC; 2-for-3, RBI, BB, 2 R), Mike Kalkowski (2027; 2-for-3, 2 2B, 3 RBI, BB, R, SB), and Sean Murray (2026; 2-for-3, 2B, RBI, R) led the way for the offense. Mike Preuss (2027) earned the win on the bump, tossing five and a third of one-run (unearned) ball on two hit with two strikeouts.

Wheaton North took down No. 13 Geneva for the second day in a row, this time by the score of 4-2. RBI singles came from Will Gainey (2028) and Zander Zielinski (2026; Clarkson Commit). Kyle Eddy (2026) had himself an RBI groundout for his productive at-bat. Jacob Bergeron (2026) played the long ball by hitting a solo home run. Nic Pisciotta (2026) was busy on the basebaths as he stole three bases of the game for the Falcons. Zander Zielinski went the distance on the mound by tossing a complete game and striking out four batters. For Geneva, their offense came from Alex Abraham (2027) when the knocked in both RBIs for the Vikings on his two-run double.

No. 14 St. Joseph-Ogden cameback and defeated East Peoria by the score of 6-5. Parker Fitch (2026; Lake Land JC Commit) pitched a complete game and struck our four hitters. Trevor Ames (2026; Morton JC Commit) led the Spartans offense with three RBIs of the game. He went 2-for-3 with a single, two-RBI double, and the game-tying sacrifice fly that he hit in the seventh inning. Two batters later after the sacrifice fly, Dalton York (2027) walked off East Peoria by reaching on an error that allowed the winning run to score. This victory improves to 28-2 of the season for the Spartans.

No. 15 Mascoutah defeated Mater Dei by the score of 15-5. The Indians offense was led by Carson Moll (2026; Rend Lake JC Commit), who went 2-for-4 with a walk, RBI single, and a three-run home run. David Schulte (2026) went 2-for-2 with two singles, a run scored, and three RBIs. CJ Epps (2027) went 2-for-3 with a walk, single, double, and three RBIs. Quinn Ford (2026) tossed five innings and struck out a hitter and earned the win. This victory improves the Indians record to 23-5.

Sacred Heart-Griffin defeated No. 17 Normal University by the score of 16-10. The Cyclones offense was led by Dylan Clow (2027), who went 3-for-4 with three singles, a hit by pitch, two runs scored, and five RBIs. Ty Springer (2026; Lincoln Land CC Commit) went 2-for-3 with a single, double, two walks, two runs, and three RBIs. Carson Butler (2026; Heartland CC Commit) went 3-for-3 with three singles, two walks, a stolen base, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Mikey Groesch (2027) hit an RBI single and an RBI fielder's choice while scoring three runs. Rowan Mizeur (2026) hit a pair of RBI singles in this contest. Carson Butler tossed 4.1 innings and struck out two hitters and earned the win.

No. 18 Lyons edged Hinsdale Central 4–3 to earn its 20th win of the season. Nick Hines (2027) delivered the game-winning hit with a walk-off single in the seventh inning to seal the victory for the Lions. Abraham Caseres (2026) provided a boost offensively, driving in two runs on one hit, while Jack Slightom (2026: Cincinnati commit) was dominant on the mound, going the distance and allowing two earned runs on six hits while striking out 11.

No. 19 Minooka took down Bolingbrook by a score of 6-2. Both Brady Kozlowski (2026; Findlay) and Conor Powers (2027) had strong days at the plate, with each homering in the game and picking up two RBIs each. Both had two hits in the game, with Kozlowski finishing 2-for-4 with a run scored and Powers reaching base three times with a 2-for-2 performance and a walk. Landon Currie (2027) also saw the ball well, collecting two doubles in a 2-for-3 day with a walk and coming across to score three times. Joey Rutz (2027) got the start, striking out four across 4+ innings of work, with Kyle Rodak (2027) putting together a scoreless 2.1 innings of relief to get secure the win.

No. 21 Tremont defeated Pekin 13-1. Griffin Meeker (2026, Heartland CC; 2-for-2, 2B, RBI, 2 BB, 3 R, 2 SB), Justin Muselman (2026; 1-for-3, HR, 4 RBI, BB, 2 R, SB), Andrew Dawson (2026, Valparaiso; 2-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI, R, SB), and Jordan Balsimo (2026; 2-for-2, 2B, 2 R, SB) all had big days at the dish en route to the win. On the mound, Hunter Smith (2026; Monmouth) notched the win, tossing four innings of one-run (unearned) ball on one hit, with five strikeouts.

No. 22 Edwardsville shutout Collinsville 5-0. Tony Eberlin (2026; TCU) twirled a complete game on the mound, allowing just four hits and two walks, while punching out four. Nicholas Chiarodo (2028) had a big day at the dish going a perfect 3-for-3 with a homer, two RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. Andrew McCutchen (2029; 2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI) and Hunter Baugh (2026, Lindenwood; 3-for-4, RBI) also had productive days at the dish in the win.

CF Jake Bonino (2026; South Suburban) mashed a 2-run home and added an RBI triple and 2B Charlie Roelle (2026) was 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and two runs as Willowbrook defeated Morton 11-7 to finish a perfect 18-0 in West Suburban Gold action. 3B Ben Swanson (2027) was 3-for-3 and earned the save with three innings of relief. RHP Mikey Garner (2027) got the win in relief, pitching two scoreless innings and striking out three for the Warriors (26-4).

Recap

No. 25 Newman Central Catholic defeated Warren/Stockton 11-1. Jameson Hanlon (2028; 2-for-2, 2B, 3B, RBI, 2 R, SB), Garet Wolfe (2026, Highland CC; 2-for-3, RBI, R), and Evan Bushman (2026; 2-for-3, R) led the way offensively. Ashton Miner (2027) and Tyson Williams (2028) combined to allow one unearned run over five innings of work, scattering two hits and a walk. The win moves the Comets' record to 23-1.

Wilmington took down Andrew 4-3. Ryan Kettman threw it well over his 6.2 innings, allowing three earned runs with five strikeouts against one walk - also going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Cooper Holman was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

Staunton took down Carlinville 14-6. Matt Overby allowed just two earned runs over seven innings, striking out three - also going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and two RBIs. Cale Dugger was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Ashton Rizzi was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Carter Legendre was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs as well.

Westmont 14 Maywood (Proviso East) 7. Westmont improves to 25-9 on the season. First matchup between the two in school history. Alex Meyer got the win on the mound with five innings of work, striking out five. Jaxson Chinea added two shutout innings and four runs scored at the plate. Landon Hicks added two doubles. Ricky Yenkin had three RBIs and three runs scored. C.J. Balcer was 3-for-5 with four RBIs.

Richards took down Bremen 6-5. Luis DeAvila was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Jake Kirk was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Alton took down Belleville East 5-0 in a combined no-hit effort. Logan Hickman earned the win with six strong innings, not allowing a single hit or run, striking out 12 with three walks - also going 1-for-3 at the plate with a triple and an RBI. Parker Wendle added a hitless inning with a strikeout. Donovan Ducey was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs. Anderson Kaufman was 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Harvest-Westminster took down Chicago Christian 10-2. Luke Bartolome went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate while also firing six strong innings with just two runs allowed.

Waterloo took down Granite CIty 4-3 in eigth innings. Chase Zimmerman (2028) put together a complete game that went eight innings, allowing nine hits, two walks, three runs, and punching out eight. Caleb Papenberg (2026) was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a walk, a run score, and two RBIs. Brody Kollack (2027) drove in the winning run in the top of the eigth for the Bulldogs to give them the win.

Nolan Dabrowski (2026; Wisconsin- River Falls commit; 2 H, 2B, 2 R, RBI), John Morgan (2028; 2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R, BB), Chase Lee (2029; 2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI) and Ryan Morgan (2028; 2-for-3, 2B, RBI) led the Gators offense. Michael Silvius (2027) turned in a strong two-way performance, tossing five innings while allowing just one hit and one walk and striking out four, while also contributing two hits and an RBI at the plate.

O'Fallon blanked Belleville West 2-0 behind a strong outing from Will Vanderheyden (2028). Vanderheyden tossed six innings allowing two hits and two walks while striking out 11. Owen Stoffel (2026) recorded the save striking out two in a perfect inning. Liam Decker (2027; 2-for-2, RBI, R, BB) and Anthony Perez (2026; Central Alabama CC commit; 2 H, R) led the way on offense.

Miller hit the RBI double, Elam the RBI single, and Bell with the RBI groundout. Kade Milleville (2026; Lake Land JC Commit) extended the lead in the seventh inning with a two-RBI double. Carson Milleville took the mound and delivered a complete game five-hit shutout and struck out seven hitters.

Annawan-Wethersfield defeated Sherrard by the score of 2-1. Jaton Huber and Pierce Childs led the Titans offensively with a solo home run and an RBI single, respectively. Myer Heitzler pitched a quality start and tossed 6.1 innings and struck out eight to earn the win. Maddux Heitzler came in relief and retired the final two hitters to record the save.

Batavia defeated St. Charles East by the score of 13-1. The Bulldogs offense was led by Michael Vander Luitgaren, who had a two-home run game (both two-run shots). Cal Miller (2028) and Ryan Rodriguez (2027) got in on the long ball as well. Miller hit the two-run homer while Rodriguez hit a solo blast. Loukas Vatianou knocked in a two-RBI triple in the leadoff spot of the batting order. Danny Strong (2027) pitched a two-hit complete game and struck out eight hitters while giving up an earned run.

Teutopolis beat Richland County 6-1 behind a complete game from Davin Worman (2026; Kaskaskia JC commit). Worman went all seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and one walk, while striking out eight. Jason Kreke (2026; Kaskaskia JC commit; 3-for-3, RBI, BB), Andy Lustig (2027; 2-for-4, 2B, 2 R) and Austin Borries (2026: Lindenwood commit: H, 2 RBI) led the way for the Wooden Shoes.

The Bobcats offense was led by Santino Imhof (2027), who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a single, walk, four stolen bases, three runs scored, and four RBIs. Chase Maher (2027) went 2-for-4 with two singles, two walks, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Noah Hanson was another key player that hit an RBI single wihile stealing four bases on the basepaths. He also threw the first two innings and struck out four hitters. Brady Cain got the win in relief by tossing five innings and recording four punchouts.

DeKalb defeated Metea Valley 8-4. Breydon Martin (2026; HR, 2 RBI), Gavin Cheney (2027; 3-for-4, R) and Caden Smith (2027; 3-for-5, RBI, R). Will Smrz (2028) tossed all seven innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out five.

Felix Maynard (2026: 3-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) and Dax Randolph (2028; 2 H, 2B, R, BB) led the Bulldogs offense.

Nick Pignatiello (2027) had a perfect 3-for-3 day with two singles, a triple, walk, two stolen bases, three runs scored, and an RBI. Preston Payne (2027) took the mound and started the first two innings and punched out four hitter without giving up a run.

Alex Athmer (2027) hit a two-run homer while Conlan hit a solo blast. Miles Browne (2026) hit a two-run single to knock in his two RBIs of the contest. Lincoln Radake tossed 3.2 innings and struck out six hitters.

He also hit an RBI fielder's choice and stole a couple bases. Mason Smith (2026) pitched a quality start by going five innings and four punchouts to earn the win.

Carmi-White County defeated Crab Orchard by the score of 1-0. Maxon O'Daniel provided the offense with the RBI single. Hayden Sauls (2026) provided the pitching performance by tossing 6.2 innings and nine punchouts while giving up two hits and no runs.
