Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 4 Lockport shut out No. 3 Lincoln-Way East 6-0 in an Illinois top 5 matchup. Drew Satunas (2026; Grand Valley State Commit) went 2-for-3 with a bases-loaded walk, single, and an RBI double. Adam Kozak (2026; Lewis Commit) went 1-for-2 with a walk, bases-loaded hit by pitch, and an RBI triple while scoring a run. Trace Schaaf (2026;; Morton JC Commit) tossed six shutout innings and struck out three to earn the win. He and Declan Andler (2027) combined for a two-hit shutout.

No. 7 Huntley defeated Hampshire by the score of 5-1. Leo Bianchin (2026; Kishwaukee JC Commit) led the Red Raiders offense with two RBIs, including a sacrifice fly and an RBI double. Gavin Rettberg (2026) knocked in an RBI single, drew a walk, stole a base, and scored a run. Kyle Ziebell (2026; Lake Land JC Commit) went 3-for-4 with two singles and a solo home run while also stealing a base. Liam Nash (2027; Houston Commit) threw five strong innings and struck out 12 in his quality start to earn the win.

No. 9 McHenry defeated Crystal Lake Central by the score of 8-2. Nathan Neidhardt (2026) led the Warriors offense with two RBIs on his two-run double. Scotty Cole (2026; McHenry County JC Commit) got in on the long ball with a solo home run. Jeffry Schwab (2026) and Aiden Mueller each knocked in RBI singles as part of a five-run sixth inning. Scotty Cole pitched a complete game and struck out six batters.

No. 10 Triad defeated No. 15 Mascoutah by the score of 11-1 in an Illinois Power 25 matchup. Keegan Seipp (2027; Xavier Commit) went 2-for-3 with a walk, single, two-RBI triple, a stolen base, and two runs scored. Nolan Keller (2026; Kaskaskia JC Commit) went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI doubles, a stolen base, and a run scored. RBI singles came from Auggie Bugger, Kade Rocca (2027), and Brody Hasquin (2027). Kody Anderson (2029) got the win in relief by delivering 2.2 innings and striking out three batters.

No.11 Mount Carmel took down St. Rita 6-2. Connor Elenteny (2026; Notre Dame) put together a strong start, allowing only two runs in his 5.2 innings of work, allowing five hits, two walks, and punching out five. Joey Ireland (2026; Illinois) drove in two runs on the day, with Owen Morgan (2027) also reaching base in all three of his plate appearnces, finsihing the day 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Jake Matise (2026; Lewis) closed it out for the Caravan, putting together a perfect 1.1 inniings of work with a strikeout.

No. 12 Lemont defeated Oak Forest by the score of 8-2. Three hitters each drove in two RBIs for the offense. Mike Kalkowski (2027) went 3-for-4 with three singles (one RBI single) and a bases-loaded walk. Cannon Madej (2026; Southwestern Illinois JC Commit) drew a hit by pitch, a walk, and a two-run single while scoring a run. Matt Ciesla (2026) hit a sacrifice fly and an RBI single. Sean Murray (2026) had a perfect day at the plate by going 3-for-3 with a walk, hit by pitch, three singles, two stolen bases, a run scored, and an RBI. Luke Marusarz (2027) tossed five innings and got the win with two strikeouts.

Wheaton North took down No. 13 Geneva by the score of 5-2. All five Falcons runs were scored in the third inning. Jacob Bergeron (2026) got the scoring started by scoring on a passed ball. Kyle Eddy (2026) reached on an error on a hard ground ball to knock in his RBI. Then, Jacob Johnson (2026) hit a two-RBI single to increase the deficit. Alex Popham (2026) took care of business with a complete game and four punchouts. For Geneva, Gavin Dworak (2028) knocked two RBIs on his RBI single and fielder's choice.

Downers Grove North took down No. 18 Lyons and shut them out 4-0. Sam Marshall (2027) hit an RBI double while Antonio Russotiesi (2027) hit a two-RBI double for the Trojans. That was enough run support for Colin Doyle (2027; Duke Commit) to toss a complete game four-hit shutout and and strike out 12 batters.

No. 20 Lincoln-Way West blanked Lincoln-Way Central 12-0. Adam Redmond (2028) went all five innings allowing three hits and two walks, while striking out six. Owen Weber (2026; HR, 3 RBI), Carson Paulas (2026; 2B, 3 R), and Luke Tyrakowski (2027; 2B) led the way for the Warriors offense.

Justin Muselman (2026; 3-for-3, 3B, 2 RBI, 3 R, BB, SB), Andrew Dawson (2026; Valparaiso commit; 3-for-3, 3 RBI, 2 R, BB, SB), Josh Papenhause (2026; 2-for-3, 3B, 2B, 4 RBI, R, BB), and Griffin Meeker (2026; Heartland commit; 2-for-2, RBI, 4 R, 2 BB, 2 SB) led the high flying offense. Chase Rhodes (2026; John A. Logan commit; 2.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K) got the win on the mound.

Columbia took down No. 22 Edwardsville 10-9 on a three-run walk-off homerun by Brody Landgraf (2026; Creighton commit). Landgraf also added a double and two runs scored in the contest. Ayden Sepich (2028) had a huge day at the plate going a perfect 4-for-4 with a HR, two 2B, four RBI, and three runs scored. Owen Worcester (2027) got the win throwing the final two innings without giving up a run. Ty Hunt (2027) led the Tigers going 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Morton took down No. 23 Dunlap 2-0 behind strong pitching. Camden Taylor (2026; Dubuque commit) tossed 6.1 scoreless innings allowing two hits and four walks, while striking out nine. Carson Mitchell (2027) got the final two outs to record the save. Isaac Davis (2027: 2-for-3, HR), Jude Parnham (2027; 2 H, RBI), and Owen Adams (2026; 2-for-3, RBI, R) led the way for the Potters.

Freeburg took down Granite City 9-1 behind a stellar start by Liam Scaiefe (2027). Scaiefe tossed five innings, allowed just three hits, one run, two walks, and struck out 10. The offense collected 13 hits, led by Jonathan Barlow (2027; Bradley), Barlow had three hits, including a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Cole Miller (2026) and Trey Tampow (2028) both doubled. Freeburg is now 22-7 on the year.

Wauconda 12

Recap

Wauconda takes the series win against Grayslake Central after winning game two 12-4. Luke Sickmeir (2027) collected five hits out of the leadoff spot with a double, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Lucas Swanson (2026) was 3-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored. Jackson Rosenberg (2026) tossed a complete game, allowing four hits, four runs, two walks, and five strikeouts.

Moline 10

Recap

Moline edged Alleman 10-8 to sweep the season series 2-0. Dylan DeCrane (2026; College of DuPage) led the offense for Moline, finishing 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBIs, and a run scored. Isaiah Shoff (2027) drove in two runs on two hits and a walk. Drew Phelps (2026) drove in two runs out of the leadoff spot and walked. Kelly Honert (2027) homered with three RBIs and a walk for Alleman, Truman Marner (2027) had two hits including a doubled, and Adam VanMeighem (2026) doubled, scoring twice.

Herscher 16

Recap

Herscher dominated Peotone in a 16-6 win. Cooper Meredith (2027) finished 4-for-4 with three doubled, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Colton Carson (2028) drove in four runs, finished 1-for-2 with a homer and two runs scored. Tanner Jones (2026) finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, four RBIs, and two runs scored and Gaige Brown (2027) collected three hits two runs scored, an RBI, and a walk out of the leadoff spot.

Glenbrook North took down Saint Viator 8-7 on Wednesday evening. Dylan Hirsch (2026) led the way for the GBN offense, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Michael Nagel (2026) drove in two runs on a double, Madden WIlliams (2029) collected two XBH, a double and a triple, and drove in two runs. Noah Torrian (2026) struck out six over five innings to earn the win for GBN. Brandon Thomsen (2026; Purdue) finished 2-for-4 with two homers and five RBI.

Lutheran 20

Lutheran shutout North Greene 20-0 behind a dominant start by Caleb Cox (2026; NIU). Cox tossed five innings, throwing a no hitter, allowing just one walk and struck out 14. Lutheran is now 15-5 on the year.

Recap

Westmont beat Chicago (Holy Trinity) 9-4 on Wednesday evening to win the Chicago Prep Conference Championship and collect their 24th win on the season. Ricky Yenkin (2027) got the win on the mound tossing five IP, allowing just three hits, two runs, four walks, and 10 K’s. C.J. Balcer (2027), Landon Hicks (2027), Jake Carney (2029), and Max Meza (2029) each collected two RBIs.

Champaign Central 12

Champaign Central defeated Bloomington by the score of 12-2. Ryan Pipkins (2028) went 3-for-4 in the game with a home run, three RBI and three run scored, and Ben McDaniel (2027) went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk. Tre Cole (2026; Wright State) went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, two RBI, one run scored and a walk, and John Timmons (2027) went 2-for-4 with one run scored. On the mound, Pikins threw a complete game (6 IP) with nine strikeouts, one walk, two runs and eight hits allowed.

Staunton defeated Greenfield/Northwestern by the score of 11-2. Cale Dugger (2028) went 2-for-3 with a home run, double, two RBI and one run scored, and Jace Spickerman (2029) went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. On the mound, Dugger earned the win, tossing three innings with three strikeouts and one hit allowed.

Metamora picked up the 2-1 win over East Peoria, walking it off on an error. Saul Swanson (2027) tripled in the game and scored once, and Jacob Crotz (2026) tallied a hit with one run scored and a walk. Stephen Petri (2026; Carl Sandburg JC) threw a complete game on the mound and tallied six strikeouts. For East Peoria, Auggie Lohnes (2026; Illinois Central JC) went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI.

Cary-Grove took down Jacobs 5-3 behind a huge day from Dylan Dumele. Dumele got the start on the mound and went six innings allowing just two earned runs on two hits, while striking out 12. Andrew Paduch (2028) recorded the save with a clean seventh inning, striking out two. Dumele also led the offense going 3-for-4 with a 2B and two runs scored. Eight Trojans recorded a hit in a balanced offensive attack.

Recap

Stagg defeated Sandburg 3-1 behind complete game performance from Sebastian Santos (2027). Santos gave up one run and struck out four over seven innings. Dominic Talaga (2027) doubled and drove in two to lead the Chargers in a low scoring affair.

Recap

Rockridge defeated Orion by the score of 5-2. Cullen Schwigen (2027) earned the win on the mound, tossing five innings and tallying 10 strikeouts, walking one, and allowing two runs and five hits. At the plate, Schwigen went 2-for-3 with a double, one RBI, two runs scored and two walks. Kainin Mumma (2028) went 2-for-3 with one RBI and a walk.

Zion-Benton beat Highland Park 11-5. Brayden Duran (2027; 2 H, 2B, RBI, 2 R), Michael Gonzalez (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R, BB) and Jake Mitchell (2027; 2-for-3, 2 RBI, 2 R) led the way for the Zee-Bees. Samuel Villarreal (2026) got the win on the mound tossing six innings.

Belleville West defeated Glenwood by the score of 3-1. Caiden Capell and Austin Weissert got the scoring started with a bases-loaded hit by pitch and a sacrifice fly, respectively. Jack Harris (2027) provided the Maroons only RBI hit with his RBI double. Colton Ferrera pitched a complete game and struck out five while giving up an earned run.

Barrington shut out Prospect by the score of 5-0. The Broncos offense was led by Andrew Whitney, who hit a bases-clearing double. Zack Ostergaard hit an RBI double and Max Wrzezcz hit an RBI single to round out the scoring. Jack Postma (2028) tossed a complete game three-hit shutout and struck out nine batters.
