Grassfield 7, #15 Great Bridge 4

This was an intense 757 game as advertised. Great Bridge jumped out to an early lead in the first with a leadoff double from Trey Burton and a RBI single from Cole Cinnamond (Clemson). Grassfield would have a big fourth inning taking advantage of free bases. Ayden Farris (Regent) led the offense at the top of the order. Joel Flynn (Regent) settled in after some early traffic and put up four consecutive scoreless innings after the third. He would go on to throw a complete game and lead the Grizzlies to the win.

Salem (Salem) 6, Glenvar 6

Glenvar took an early six run lead through the first two innings with Salem responding with six of their own with three of them separated by a quiet fourth inning. The matchup would go on to keep the tie through nine and a half innings before ultimately ending due to a lack of sunlight. Sophomore Aiden Poff contributed to three of the six runs for the Spartans highlighted by a two run Homerun and a two RBI double. Sophomore Cameron Feazell also had a strong showing with a multi hit night including a double, two singles, and bringing in two runs.

#4 Frank W. Cox 15, Kellam 6

Offense was the theme of this Beach District showdown. In a darkness shortened game, both teams combined for 24 hits and 12 walks, leaving plenty of opportunities for runs. Kellam struck first on a Chase Adamek single, but the Falcons would answer with five in the bottom half, capped off with singles by Alex John and Ethan Rayno. Both teams traded off scoring some runs here and there, but Cox would score in all five innings putting relentless pressure on the Knights’ pitching staff and defense. Of the 15 total runs for the Falcons, they would score a combined 11 runs in the first and third innings. Tripp Faison (Hampden-Sydney), Hank Brown (VCU), Alex John, Andrew Lupien, and Ethan Rayno would all deliver multi-hit days for Cox. The Knights got big contributions from Cooper Townsend, Hudson Howell, and Cole Krokus
