As we look back on the 2025 summer tournament circuit here in Kansas City, we’ll be breaking down the top players by tool from each class based on evaluations from our scouting team at Homefield and Creekside. Follow along as we take a deep dive into these players and highlight the summers they put together. Each week will feature our top five players based on each tool from the class, presented in no particular order.

Another one of our young 2026 arms, Tucker Thompson, attacks hitters in a completely different way than the others on our list. Thompson works from a low 3/4 slot, which makes his fastball appear even harder. While pitchers with this slot often get a lot of arm-side run, Thompson stays on top of the ball and adds carry, making his roughly eight inches of vertical break look even more pronounced. Sitting in the high 80s to low 90s, he’s especially tough on left-handed hitters.

The Texas commit also features a sweeping, side-to-side slider, creating a unique challenge for hitters who have to cover both horizontal and vertical movement. At 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds, we believe Thompson has plenty of room to grow. As he adds strength over the next few years, he could become a true impact arm for the Longhorns.
