2026 OUTLOOK

+ Southeast Lauderdale enters the 2026 season with momentum and high expectations after a 28–5 campaign that ended in a third-round playoff appearance in Class 3A. Under head coach Austin Quigley, the Tigers return a competitive core that blends veteran experience with emerging talent, giving the program a balanced foundation as it looks to contend in District 5.

The lineup is led by Donavan Murphy (2026), a versatile infielder and key two-way contributor who logged significant innings on the mound and in the field last season. Murphy’s athleticism and consistent production make him a focal point on both sides of the ball, giving the Tigers a reliable presence in high-leverage situations. Peyton Roberts (2026) adds another dual-threat option, impacting the game defensively while providing innings on the mound, and his experience positions him as a key piece of Southeast Lauderdale’s core.

Chase Keller (2026) and Rowan Riley (2027) anchor the infield, providing both consistency and defensive reliability, while Mason Chapman (2027) and Ryan Roach (2026) add athleticism and depth in the outfield. Cohen Moseley (2028) is already showing promise behind the plate, giving the Tigers a potential long-term cornerstone at catcher.

On the mound, Murphy and Roberts will shoulder the majority of the workload, bringing competitiveness and proven ability in key situations. How the staff develops behind them, including Blaze Anthony (2027) and other underclass contributors, will be critical for maintaining consistency throughout the season.

With returning two-way stars, a solid defensive core, and young talent pushing for meaningful varsity roles, Southeast Lauderdale enters 2026 positioned as a contender in District 5. If the Tigers continue to get production from their top bats and depth from emerging arms, they have the pieces in place to make another deep playoff run.
