Overall Summary

Barlow is a 6A side Prep Baseball expects to take a step forward after a 12-15 finish a season ago. The Bruins are anchored by their strong junior class, headlined by two-way talents Zaydon Marguth and Amari Reynolds. Both are top of the order-type bats who hit over .300 last spring. Reynolds also added 32.2 IP on the mound with a 1.50 ERA when he wasn't manning shortstop, while Marguth added 30.2 productive IP of his own when not at third base. Barlow will need to replace about 75 innings on the mound from graduated seniors, but talented freshman LHP Landon Elmer, the second-ranked prospect in Oregon's 2029 class, could be poised to make an immediate impact to fill that void. Offensively, junior Ryder Curtiss should step into a bigger role and man a corner OF spot, while junior Maddox Curtiss provides returning varsity experience at the catcher position. Junior Ethan Baker could see time at catcher as well. Another talented freshman with an ability to make an early impact is Ozzee Marguth, and whether he leapfrogs the upperclassman at catcher or transitions to an infield spot, the lefty bat has big time potential. Barlow will be tested from the jump in 2026 with tough early season matchups against West Linn, Jesuit and Grant. Expect the Bruins to lean on their strong junior class and take a step forward this season.
