POWER 25 COUNTDOWN: NO. 4 📊
CPA Lions
The CPA baseball program finished the 2025 season going 33-6-2 and was put out by Lipscomb Academy in the state championship game. Coming into the spring, the Lions have to replace most of their lineup but bring back maybe the best pitching staff in the state.
Leading the pitching staff for the Lions will be a transfer from Nolensville, 2026 Vandy commit LHP Bo Holloway who is also a two time Future Game alum. Bo comes into the spring as a big time draft prospect and has all the tools to be playing baseball for a long time. With a big, projectable frame standing at 6’5 205 lbs, Bo has run his fastball up to 97 MPH with a changeup in the upper 80s and a nasty slider. 2026 RHP Jacksonville State commit RHP Eli Dickey is a Future Game alum and is another big, projectable pitcher with a 6’3 215 lbs frame. Eli has a fastball up to 91 MPH and a big slider that sits in the 2600 spin rate range. Another transfer that comes in from Columbia Central is 2026 Samford commit RHP/INF Burton Moore is also a strong statured pitcher for the Lions with a 6’2 210 lbs frame and a fastball up 92 MPH and a slider in the 2500 spin rate range. Burton is also in line to be the shortstop and middle of the order hitter for the Lions. 2026 Lipscomb commit RHP Weston Willeford was an important arm on the mound last season pitching high leverage games for the Lions. Weston stands at 6’3 200 lbs and has a fastball in the upper 80s and has good offspeed that he can throw in any count. 2027 RHP/MIF Cooper Daniel is a Future Game alum with a fastball up to 90 MPH and big offspeed pitches that have up to 2800 spin rates. Cooper will be an essential arm coming out of the pen for the Lions and will also be counted on to play second base. 2027 RHP/INF Jack VanOrman is a big, projectable right-handed pitcher with a 6’3 195 lbs frame and has been in the upper 80s with his fastball. Jack will also be an important bat in the lineup.
The lineup will be filled mostly from a talented sophomore class. The lone upperclassman left from last year’s state runner-up team is 2027 OF Roman Abbagnaro is a toolsy outfielder that should hit leadoff for the Lions. Roman has a rare mix of power and speed with an exit velocity up to 102 MPH. In the field, Roman has a big range in center field with a big arm up to 92 MPH. 2028 C Jack Rhodes is a tooled up catcher that has rare skills for the position with a frame standing at 6’2 185 lbs. At the plate, Jack is a left-handed hitter with exit velocities up 99 MPH and 6.7 60 speed. Behind the plate, Jack has a big arm up to 80 MPH and a 1.9 pop time. 2028 INF Wright Martin has a big frame at 6’2 245 lbs and has big power potential already putting up exit velocities up to 101 MPH and good speed to go with it running a 7.02 60. Wright will be plugged into the middle of the lineup for the Lions. 2028 C Crew Chance is left-handed bat that played an important role for the Lions as a freshman. Down the stretch, Crew had big
ABs late in the game coming up clutch showing great barrel control and poise beyond his years. Crew has a good mix of power and speed running a 6.84 60 time.
Although the Lions come into the spring with an extremely young and inexperienced lineup, they possess arguably the best pitching staff in the state of Tennessee that should propel them back to the state tournament with a chance to finish the job.
