Week of March 9th

Monday

Ayden Elliott, OF, 2026, Locust Grove
ABAC commit. Elliott provided a strong look out of the lead-off spot as he took impressive swings throughout the night for the Wildcats. Including the biggest swing of the game as he fired one back into center field for the go-ahead 2 RBI base-hit in the bottom of the sixth in a tough left-on-left matchup. Stands a lean, athletic 6-foot-0, 190-pounds with tools to project upon at the plate. Stays balanced through the zone with no stride and controls the levers well. Operates from a quick, direct trigger and creates excellent length in-zone with barrel feel alike. Works up-the-middle of the field and sets the tone at the top of the Wildcats lineup. Quality look out of the pen as well and operated in the mid 80’s with a sharp breaking ball. Elliott has shown well this Spring and aims to provide immense two-way value as Locust Grove looks to stay hot in region play and so forth.

Christian Colon, RHP, 2026, Locust Grove
The ABAC commit put together a dominant outing to open the series. Struck out 8 across 5.0 innings-pitched and carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning. Stands an athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pounds with pitchability and feel for the full mix. Moves well down the mound with a loose arm stroke and ability to repeat well from a lower slot. Fastball lived in the upper 80’s at 87-88 (T89 MPH) with ride through the zone and heavy swing-and-miss when elevated. Changeup played extremely well off the fastball with advanced feel to spot anywhere in the zone at 80-83 with diving action and fade. Curveball balanced the entire arsenal and showed the ability to bury for chase with sharp bite at 76-78. Colon provides ace caliber production atop the rotation as he gives the Wildcats high-level innings and a chance to win on a nightly basis.

Coe Puckett, C, 2027, Fellowship Christian
Uncommitted. The quality looks at Puckett continue to stack up this spring and has had standout defense behind the place on both occasions we have seen him. There was obvious strength added in the offseason that was evident at Preseason All-State in January. The game at the plate has taken a step up and he put that strength on full display Monday with a no doubt home run to left. The barrel is accurate through the zone, and when he stays through the ball there is real impact with the ability to drive the ball to both gaps. He is a savvy defender behind the plate with athleticism that was shown on a backhand pick where he still threw the runner out at 2B. He also added a back pick at 1B to end the inning. Puckett is on pace for a breakout year and will be a must see backstop headed into the summer.
