Texas Pitcher & Hitter of the Week (Week 3)

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Hitter & Pitcher of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state.
Thank you to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

HITTER OF THE WEEK

Joshua Viars SS / C / Prosper Walnut Grove, TX / 2026West Virginia commit Joshua Viars put together an explosive week at the plate, going 10-for-13 with a double, 3 home runs, 9 RBI, and 8 runs scored while also swiping 3 bases. Viars showed the ability to drive the baseball with authority while also creating pressure on the bases. He also collected his 100th varsity hit last week. |

Landon Carlisle RHP / SS / Weatherford, TX / 2026Rankings StateRank: 191 / POS: 51
Grayson College commit Landon Carlisle turned in a dominant performance on the mound, tossing 6 innings of no-hit baseball while striking out 10 and allowing no runs. Carlisle controlled the outing from the start, attacking hitters and limiting hard contact while keeping hitters off balance throughout. The 6 inning no hitter earns Carlisle Pitcher of the Week honors. |
