Prep Baseball Louisiana: 2026 Diamond Notes (Week 2)

The Prep Baseball Louisiana Diamond Notes serves as an opportunity for our staff to highlight players, from across the state, that put up impressive performances on a given week, yet fell short of our Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week honors.

Pitcher of the Week (Week 2)

Tanner Conley LHP / 1B / Fontainebleau, LA / 2028

Rankings  StateRank: 3 / POS: 1

The former Jr. Future Gamer showed exactly why he’s regarded as the top southpaw in Louisiana’s 2028 class with a dominant Week 2 performance.

Conley made his first start last Monday against Live Oak and was electric, spinning four no-hit innings with just one walk and six strikeouts. He didn’t factor into the decision, but set the tone in what turned into a 4-3 Bulldogs win.

He came back on Saturday against Lakeshore and somehow raised the bar even higher — firing five more no-hit innings with three walks and 11 punchouts.

For the week?

Nine no-hit innings. Four walks. Seventeen strikeouts.

That’s dominance.

 

 

Player of the Week (Week 2)

Ridge Coats OF / Ouachita Christian, LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 70 / POS: 4

Coats came out of the gates solid in Week 1 — but he absolutely erupted in Week 2 for the Eagles.

Across four games, he went 8-for-14 (.571) with five home runs, 15 RBI, and eight runs scored, while also reaching base three more times via two hit-by-pitches and a walk. It wasn’t just production — it was loud production.

Through two weeks, he’s now hitting .542 on the season with six home runs, 21 RBI, and 11 runs scored. Those are video game numbers that most players would be thrilled to post over the course of an entire spring — and he’s done it before March.

Still uncommitted, Coats is quickly becoming one of the must-see bats in the state this year. College coaches would be wise to make plans to get eyes on him sooner rather than later.

 

 

 

Other Notable Performances (Week 2)

Cain Milligan RHP / Bunkie, LA / 2026

Milligan tossed a complete-game no-hitter against Marksville High last week with 11 strikeouts.

Reis Wascom RHP / OF / Catholic (BR), LA / 2028

Wascom logged 6.2 no-hit innings last week with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts to lead the Bears to the 5-1 win over Covenant Christian.

Henry Beckers RHP / 3B / Parkview Baptist, LA / 2026

The East Central Community College recruit went 6-for-9 with a home run, 4 runs batted in, and drew 6 walks last week. Beckers also logged 5.1 innings and allowed only 1 earned run on 5 hits with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.

Logan Sorrel RHP / Parkview Baptist, LA / 2026

Sorrel tossed a 5 inning no-hitter last week with 0 walks and 12 strikeouts to beat West Ouachita.

Chase Marcotte C / RHP / Destrehan, LA / 2027

The uncommitted junior went 5-for-11 with 5 doubles and 6 runs batted in last week. Marcotte also picked up a win against West Monroe after tossed 6.1 innings allowing only 2 earned runs with 0 walks and 3 strikeouts.

Blake Delcambre / Loreauville, LA

Delcambre went 5-for-11 with a double, 4 runs scored, 1 run batted in, 1 walk, and stole 5 bases last week.

Tucker Louviere / Loreauville, LA

Louviere went 3-for-7 with 2 runs batted in and 2 walks for the Tigers last week.

Cameron Deroche LHP / Lutcher, LA / 2026

The Nunez Community College recruit tossed 6.2 innings allowed only 1 earned run on 5 hits with 0 walks and 11 strikeouts against Brusly last week.

Dane Bodin SS / RHP / Lutcher, LA / 2026

Bodin tossed a complete game three-hit shutout with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts against Iota last week.

Benjamin Ellender C / Breaux Bridge, LA / 2026

Ellender went 8-for-11 with 5 extra-base hits last week and 6 runs batted in to push his season average to .632 on the year.

Eric St. Pierre RHP / Lutcher, LA / 2026

St. Pierre went 6-for-11 with 2 doubles, 4 runs batted in, 4 runs scored, 4 walks, and also stole 3 bases for the Bulldogs last week.

Ty Lamartina RHP / C / Acadiana, LA / 2026

Our Week 1 Pitcher of the Week delivered another gem in Week 2. Against Northshore, Lamartina tossed 7 innings and allowed only 1 earned with 2 walks and 11 strikeouts to lead the Rams to the win over the Panthers.

Kross Gillen RHP / OF / Opelousas Catholic, LA / 2026

The former Future Gamer and LSU-Eunice recruit tosseed a complete-game shutout against Captain Shreve with 9 strikeouts.

Ory Titus RHP / 1B / Jewel Sumner, LA / 2027

Titus logged 5 shutout innings with 6 strikeouts last week and also hit 2 doubles with 3 runs batted in at the plate.

Corey Bourgeois 3B / RHP / Vandebilt Catholic, LA / 2028

Rankings  StateRank: 37 / POS: 4

Bourgeois tossed 5 innings and gave up only 1 hit with 8 strikeouts to beat Vermilion Catholic. He also went 9-for-14 with 1 home run, 1 double, 6 runs batted in, and 8 runs scored.  

Spencer Guilbeau OF/ RHP / Vandebilt Catholic, LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 85 / POS: 18

The Nunez Community College recruit tossed 4 innings of no-hit baseball with 6 strikeouts to beat Terrebonne last week for his second no-hitter of the season. Guilbeau also went 9-for-13 with a home run, 4 doubles, 9 runs batted in, and 5 runs scored last week.

Bradyn Cupit LHP / West Monroe, LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 4 / POS: 1
The LSU recruit picked up the win against Walker last week after tossing 5.2 innings allowing 0 earned runs with 9 strikeouts to push his season record to 2-1 with a 2.17 ERA.

Gabe Dronet C / New Iberia Senior High, LA / 2026

Dronet hit .625 last week for the Yellow Jackets with a double, 3 runs batted in, and he also drew 5 walks.

Luke Martinez 3B / RHP / John Curtis Christian, LA / 2026

The uncommitted senior went 6-for-10 with a home run, 2 doubles, 1 triple, and 9 runs batted for the Patriots last week.

Myles Jones OF / New Iberia Senior High, LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 94 / POS: 20
Jones finished last week with a .462 average with 2 doubles, 4 runs batted in, and 4 runs scored. He also made several stellar plays in centerfield for the Yellow Jackets.

Braden Sanders OF / Zachary, LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 53 / POS: 12
The Grambling State recruit hit at a .667 clip with a .727 on-base percentage for the Broncos last week. Sanders hit one home run, 2 doubles, and also swiped 3 bases.

Noah Sullivan RHP / Zachary, LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 22 / POS: 6
The Louisiana Tech recruit earned the win against Sulphur last week after tossing allowing 1 run on 4 hits with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts.

Hadley Hardesty RHP / Westlake, LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 107 / POS: 8

The South Arkansas College recruit tossed a complete-game against Iota last week and allowed only 1 earned run on 2 hits with 0 walks and 7 strikeouts. Hardesty also went 3-for-6 at the plate with 1 double, 1 triple, and 5 runs batted in.  

Gage Guidry RHP / SS / Vinton, LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 58 / POS: 19
Guidry beat East Chambers and South Beauregard last week. The McNeese State recruit tossed 14 innings and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits with walks and 26 strikeouts. He also went 6-for-13 with a double, 7 runs batted in, and drew 5 walks.

Brody Beddoe 1B / RHP / Sulphur, LA / 2027

The uncommitted junior went 5-for-8 with 2 doubles, 3 runs batted in, and stole a base last week for the Tors.  

Kortlin Kyle 3B / RHP / Vinton, LA / 2027

Kyle went 8-for-11 with 3 doubles, 7 runs batted in, and 3 walks last week for Vinton.

Landen Derouen SS / RHP / Erath, LA / 2027

Rankings  StateRank: 131 / POS: 28
The uncommitted junior stayed hot in Week 2 for the Bobcats. Derouen went 9-for-13 last week with 5 doubles and 8 runs batted in.

Kannon Templet SS / RHP / Southside, LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 76 / POS: 13 

The Coastal Alabama-North recruit went 8-for-10 with 1 home run, 1 double, 6 runs batted in, 6 runs scored, and also stole 5 bases. Templet also picked up the win on the mound against Erath.

Carter Wilson LHP / OF / Sulphur , LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 47 / POS: 11

The former Senior Future Gamer and McNeese State recruit went 4-for-10 with 2 doubles and 4 runs batted in last week. Wilson also tossed 6.2 innings with 3 walks and 11 strikeouts against Zachary. 

Logan Maricle LHP / 1B / Grace Christian, LA / 2028

Rankings  StateRank: 22 / POS: 3

The sophomore southpaw tossed another shutout last week against Zwolle with 14 strikeouts to move his season record to 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA with 29 strikeouts across 12 innings pitched. He also had 5 doubles and 6 runs batted in at the plate.

Brady McDaniel RHP / 3B / Grace Christian, LA / 2028

McDaniel tossed his second shutout of the year last week with 13 strikeouts vs. Northwest. He is now 2-0 on the year with a 0.00 ERA with 24 strikeouts. McDaniel also had 8 runs batted in at the plate lasat week.

Trevor St. Cyr Christian Home Educators Fellowship, LA / 2028

St. Cyr tossed a complete-game shutout with 12 strikeouts to beat Acadiana Christian last week.

Nate Steele Christian Home Educators Fellowship, LA / 2029

Steele tossed a complete-game shutout with 8 strikeouts to lead CHEF to a 5-1 win over Bowling Green last week.

Krash Menard C / UTL / Vandebilt Catholic, LA / 2028

Menard went 7-for-12 with 2 home runs, 1 double, 1 triple, 9 runs batted in, 9 runs scored, and also stole 3 bases last week.  

Jace Jarveaux RHP / Vandebilt Catholic, LA / 2026

Jarveaux tossed 5 innings and allowed only 1 hit with 8 strikeouts last week to beat Terrebonne.

Thomas LeCompte C / Vandebilt Catholic, LA / 2026

The senior backstop had a nice showing last week for the Terriers, as he went 4-for-9 with 2 home runs and 9 runs batted in.  

Sage Falterman C / DH / St. Martin's Episcopal, LA / 2026

Falterman went 5-for-5 with a home run, double, and 7 runs batted in against Holy Cross last week.
 

Zachary Ray Jr. RHP / C / Doyle, LA / 2028

Rankings  StateRank: 35 / POS: 5
The former Jr. Future Gamer went 4-for-7 last week with 2 home runs, 2 doubles, and 4 runs batted in. Ray Jr. also earned a win on the mound allowing only 1 earned across 5 innings pitched with 6 strikeouts.

Ryder DeJean C / West Monroe, LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 196 / POS: 21
DeJean went 6-for-13 with 3 doubles, 6 runs batted in, and two runs scored for the Rebels in Week 2.  

Kohlson Bible RHP / West Monroe, LA / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 335 / POS: 81

The Belhaven College recruit threw 5 no-hit relief innings with 4 strikeouts against Central (BR) to earn the win last week for the Rebels.
