Throughout the high school season, we will recognize a Mizuno Player of the Week and Mizuno Pitcher of the Week. Each week, standout performances from both position players and pitchers across the state will be highlighted as players continue to produce eye-catching results. This season, one Player of the Week and one Pitcher of the Week will be selected based on nominations submitted by high school coaches throughout Mississippi. Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 3 of the 2026 spring season.

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tate Murphy 3B / 2B / ST STANISLAUS HIGH SCHOOL, MS / 2026

Tate Murphy, a 2026 graduate from St. Stanislaus and a Pearl River CC recruit, put together a dominant week at the plate. The former Prep Baseball Future Gamer went 8-for-13 (.615) with two home runs, nine RBIs, and six runs scored, consistently driving the baseball and producing in the middle of the lineup. Murphy’s combination of strength and barrel feel continues to show up in game action, making him a key offensive piece for the Rockachaws.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Drew Davis SS / RHP / Sumrall, MS / 2027

RHP Drew Davis, a 2027 from Sumrall and an Alabama recruit, turned in a dominant performance on the mound. The former Prep Baseball Future Gamer went seven innings, allowing just three hits and one earned run while walking only one and striking out an eye-popping 18 hitters. Davis continues to cement himself as one of the top arms in the Mississippi 2027 Class.
