Prep Baseball Oklahoma Staff

The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 23 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

Key Players Lost:

Coach’s Insight: “The record last season is not indicative of the growth these players had. Most of the lineup last year was comprised of players who were playing varsity Baseball for the first time. We now return a significant amount of players with experience. The trials this team went through last season have prepared them for what is ahead. We will be returnning most of their starters in addition to a few new additions who are expected to have big years. The pitching staff is deep and experienced. We will be a very athletic ball club with speed and strength throughout the lineup. We'll have a grueling schedule this year. We have been sent East for the 3rd time in 4 years and will go head to head against some of the top teams in Oklahoma. ” – Brian Aylor, head coach

Outlook: Norman North comes into 2026 primed for a bounce back after and uncharacteristic year with youth all around the diamond and the rotation. On the mound, they'll be led by senior Terry Pursell who has shown massive upside and give them an opportunity to beat anyone in the state on Monday night. With the inexperience a year ago, this year's squad will have improved depth with both returners and newcomers that have competed at the varsity level. Offensively, they return numerous pieces that showed the potential to impact games. Junior Charles Copus should anchor that lineup as a steady presence defensively, but also offensively in the middle of the lineup coming off a year in which he showcased the ability to drive in runs conistently. The Timberwolves showed the ability to respond to adversity with toughness a season ago and a schedule that asks them to travel east in District 3 will be no different. Expect a bounce back season for Norman North in 2026.
