2027 C Warren Gravely IV - Notre Dame Signee
Gravely has transformed his body looking leaner and stronger now than ever before and the results are showing at the plate and behind it. Gravely IV has long been a strong defensive catcher whose arm was a weapon. Throws are more consistently on the bag or in the tag zone and in this viewing were all in the 1.96-2.07 range. The exchanges are also quicker as is the base running. But the true results are showing off at the plate where Gravely is more easily getting to his power. Had a hard double off the wall in his first at-bat that saw the ball carry deep into the right center field gap. It looked like a flick of the wrists and sounded like he end-capped it, but managed to muscle it off the wall. In his next at-bat he turned on a fastball scoring a run on a hit that nearly took the third baseman’s head off. In his final at-bat, Gravely again went the other way on a line drive into right-center-field that once again scored a run for the Eagles. Gravely had the attention of a few scouts that were in attendance and will certainly continue to gain interest from MLB Scouts for his defense and offense as the season matures.
