2026 NY Preseason ID: Capital Region: Quick Hits

On Wednesday, February 18th, the Prep Baseball New York staff hosted the 2026 NY Preseason ID: Capital Region at AllStars Academy in Latham, NY. Around 60 players made it out to this event, providing us with updated looks and a new list of players to follow in New York this upcoming spring.
We begin our post-event content today with our quick hits from the event, highlighting some of the notable players from the day and their numbers.

Position Players
+ 3B Kai Graybeal (Ballston Spa, 2027):
Currently ranked No. 54 in the state’s 2027 class, Graybeal put together a loud performance. The infielder has a strong, imposing 6-foot-1, 200-pound. Offensively, shows easy bat speed with advanced Blast metrics, averaged 70.2 MPH bat speed, indicating dynamic power and middle-of-the-order potential. Peaked at 102 MPH EV with an average of 94 MPH and flashed a max distance of 388’. Defensively, displays athletic actions at third base with a strong 84 MPH arm.

+ OF Jackson Stilson (Columbia, 2027):
Currently ranked No. 133 in the state’s junior class, Stilson is a physical 6-foot-4, 195-pound athlete with effortless juice to the big part of the field. Exit velocity peaked at 102 MPH, averaging 97 MPH. Advanced hand and bat speed, averaged 75 MPH bat speed and 24 MPH hand speed paired with high rotational acceleration, project a true middle-of-the-order power bat.

+ C Eric Graves (Colonie, 2027):
Physical 6-foot-2, 200-pound primary catcher showing impact on both sides. Defensively, clean actions with a 76 MPH arm and pop times 1.94–2.02. Offensively, raw power produces EVs up to 98 MPH (AVG. 92), projecting middle-of-the-order pop.

Two-Way Players
+ RHP/1B Jay Wing (Johnstown, 2028):
Currently ranked No. 42 in the state’s 2028 class, Wing is a 6-foot, 185-pound athlete showing present two-way ability. Mound arsenal includes a lively, hoppy fastball up to 83 MPH with the ability to hold velo, a curveball with command, and a slider with an average of 14 in. of HM. Offensively, rhythm and fluidity carry the barrel through the zone, generating a peak exit velocity of 99 MPH with a 92 MPH average. Ran a 3.98 30-yard dash which was near the top of the leaderboard from the event.

+ 3B/RHP Cody Mills (Saratoga Springs, 2028):
Currently ranked No. 52 in the state’s sophomore class, Mills is an imposing 6-foot-3, 210-pound two-way prospect. Offensively, maintains rhythm in the hands, loads the lower half, and attacks middle-away with gap-to-gap power. Was consistently on the barrel, peaked at 98 MPH EV with an average of 95 MPH and had a max distance of 371’. On the mound, features a short arm action with easy arm speed. Fastball T86 (2275 RPM) complemented by a 72–75 MPH slider with 24″ of sweep, giving a polished 2-way profile.

Pitchers
+ RHP Max Hogan (Saratoga Springs, 2027):
Hogan showed well in his bullpen, an athletic 6-foot-2, 190-pound #PBFG25 alum featuring a heavy power fastball up to 90 MPH, sitting in the upper-80s with 15″ arm-side run. Pairs it with a high-spin changeup (1736 AVG. spin) and a tight 79 MPH slider showing 4″ of sweep, giving him an upside arsenal.
+ RHP Braden White (Christian Brothers Academy, 2027):
Currently ranked No. 14 in the state’s junior class, White is a lean, projectable 6-foot-3, 200-pound #PBFG25 alum. Fastball shows carry (21″ IVB) at 2330 RPM up to 89.6 MPH, sitting 87-89. Complements it with a two-tier curveball in the mid-70s and a high-spin changeup (2080 RPM) featuring 16″ of arm-side run. High ceiling arm.
+ RHP Jake Bradt (Bethlehem, 2027):
Currently ranked No. 202 in the state;s 2027 class, Bradt has a 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame with a starter profile. Advanced feel for a full 4-pitch mix; commands the zone with the ability to land in the zone & expand. Fastball is 85-86 MPH with armside run, the curveball has higher spin rate numbers (2328 AVG.), and shows feel for a tight spinning slider and mid-70s changeup.
