Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week: Week 1

Throughout the high school season, we will recognize a Mizuno Player of the Week and Mizuno Pitcher of the Week. Each week, standout performances from both position players and pitchers across the state will be highlighted as players continue to produce eye-catching results. This season, one Player of the Week and one Pitcher of the Week will be selected based on nominations submitted by high school coaches throughout Mississippi. We would like to thank Mizuno for their continued support as the sponsor of both awards.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 1 of the 2026 spring season. 

 

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Landon Swinney OF / SS / Tupelo, MS / 2027

Landon Swinney (Tupelo HS) the Missouri commit had a strong week, batting .429 with two home runs, five RBIs, and three stolen bases as Tupelo went 3-0 this past week. The former Prep Baseball Future Gamer continues to make an impact on both sides of the ball as he has helped lead the Golden Wave to early success.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Kolby Stringer RHP / 3B / West Marion High School, MS / 2026

Kolby Stringer (West Marion) turned in a dominant week on the mound, making three appearances and logging 7.2 innings of work. He allowed just one hit, issued four walks, and struck out 22 batters, earning the win in both victories over Columbia. Big spring ahead for the Pearl River CC signee.
