Prep Baseball Kansas City Winter Watchlist

As we roll through the winter, our Kansas City staff has a short list of players we’re especially fired up to see as showcase season heats up ahead of a massive 2026 spring. Follow along as we highlight some of the standout players we’ll be tracking at winter showcases, names we’re excited about now and expect to make serious noise heading into 2026.

Outfielders

Thomas Eggers OF / RHP / Raymore-Peculiar, MO / 2029

Thomas Eggers is one of the more exciting athletes in the 2029 class, and his skill set was on full display throughout last spring and summer. Speed is a major part of his game, impacting both the bases and the outfield, where he looks to take away hits whenever possible.

Eggers followed that up with a strong showing at last week’s Kansas City Preseason ID, posting exit velocities up to 92 MPH and an 87 MPH outfield velocity. We’re excited to see how his game continues to develop over the next couple of years.

Everett Hash OF / RHP / Olathe Northwest, KS / 2028

Everett Hash is one of the more physical outfielders in the 2028 class. He showed the ability to consistently drive the baseball all summer for Building Champions, and we’re excited to see what his sophomore season brings.

Hash was in attendance at both the MOKAN Preseason ID and the Kansas City Preseason ID, where he posted impressive numbers, including a 102.6 MPH max exit velocity and an 85 MPH outfield arm.

Carter Taldo OF / RHP / Olathe West, KS / 2027

Taldo is a must-follow in the Kansas 2027 class, as he owns one of the highest ceilings in the group. An extremely athletic 2025 Future Gamer, his skill set continues to trend upward as he heads into his junior season.

His strength and power stand out, highlighted by 107 MPH exit velocity, a 95 MPH arm from the outfield, and a 6.8-second 60-yard dash. Taldo’s performance at the Kansas City Preseason ID may have been the best of the winter.

Tucker Lee OF / RHP / De Soto, KS / 2027

Tucker has moved up our list as a top-10 outfielder in the 2027 class over the course of the past year. His tools and athleticism have continued to develop at each event we’ve seen him at, and everything is trending in the right direction.

At the MOKAN Preseason ID, Tucker posted exit velocities into the 100s and showed a 93 MPH arm from the outfield. We’re excited to see what he brings this spring.

Jordy Scott OF / RHP / Rock Creek, KS / 2028

Jordy Scott is another physical 2028 outfielder who impressed us all summer. He stood out with easy left-handed pop at the plate and showed the ability to handle velocity.

At the MOKAN Preseason ID, Scott lit up the stat sheet with a 104.4 MPH max exit velocity and an 89 MPH outfield velocity. With his tools trending up, this could be a big year as he pushes toward Future Games consideration.

Keelan Zumwalt OF / LHP / Summit Christian, MO / 2028

Zumwalt is one of the best players in the country regardless of class, and he continues to progress toward the special player we believe he can become. After a growth spurt this summer, he has started to fully tap into the natural power that comes with his 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame.

What stands out even more, though, are his instincts and natural feel at the plate, he’s simply different. It was no surprise to see him post some of the top numbers at the MOKAN Preseason ID, including a 107.6 MPH max exit velocity (best at the event) and a 98.8 MPH average exit velocity (also leading the event).

Jastin Pringle OF / RHP / Spring Hill, KS / 2029

Pringle is another 2029 outfielder we’re excited about, and it starts with his strength. He impressed us this past spring with his ability to drive the baseball, showing real impact off the barrel.

At the Kansas City Preseason ID, Pringle posted a 95.1 MPH max exit velocity. We’ll be following him closely this spring and summer to see how his game continues to develop.

Landen Hays OF / LHP / Olathe Northwest, KS / 2028

The No. 1 outfielder in the 2028 Kansas class and for good reason. Landen Hays’ overall athleticism stands out immediately, and he continues to put together strong performances in front of our staff.

A 2025 Central Super Sophomore for Team Kansas, Hays added to his impressive résumé at the MOKAN Preseason ID, posting a 97 MPH max exit velocity and a 91 MPH outfield velocity, which ranked second at the event.
